I guess we will find out in few days. I really doubt that there will be
any playable games for the quarter player. He doesn't want that kind of
player in the place. My guess is there will be a few games that most
tourist would screw up the strategy. I will guess a 98% Bonus Deuces or
a two pair or better Joker game at the $1 and $2 denomination.

I would guess they will have 9/JB at the higher limits. The question is how far down will it go. Two dollars is certainly a possibility, but the dollar level would be competitive with Bellagio, Caesar's and (to a much lesser degree) the Venetian. I'm sure some folks are hoping for NSU Deuces, since the lower CB would put Wynn more on a level with CP than Bellagio. Who knows?
No reason to expect anything playable at under a buck.
Hopefully, we'll be pleasantly surprised.

Isn't it the tried and true approach upon opening to offer good, even
great, VP on opening, and then gradually ruin it after about a year?
Wasn't that the approach at The Palms and SunCoast?
Let me be the first to predict $FPDW. I'll check it out next week after I
place my Derby bet on the 3 legged horse.

There is a history with that kind of opening, reaching it's peak with the
sensational opening of the Reserve. But it conerns locals casinos and usually the really good stuff only lasts for a few days or weeks, maybe a few months. Reserve dumped their dollar and half-dollar FPDW pretty quick (I think they might have even had $5 fpdw for a very short time - like two days), but kept the bank of 17/10 Loose Deuces for quite a while before cutting them to 15/10 and then to 15/8.
Terrible's opened with a couple real good machines (also 17/10 Loose Deuces as I recall) and quite a few KBJW, but then swapped all that for a myriad of promotions.
Casino Montelago opened strong and has since cut back some on the number of positive machines but that seems more like an adjustment rather than a plan. It still has all of the quarter games, just not as many.
That "opening strong" model never was a model that every local casino followed and the Palms and the Suncoast didn't fit.
Suncoast opened with a very large supply of good (but not great) video
poker, mostly Double Bonus (except for about 66 quarter fpdw machines), and
was as steady as any casino I can remember, until the Coast casinos big
downgrade started about 2-2 1/2 years later, when all it's casinos had their FP
inventories slashed. Suncoast is also an example of how hard it is to scout during the opening frenzy. One veteran local, who I will not ID (except to say he is not currently on this board, as far as I know), attended the opening and pronounced the inventory as "nothing playable". <g>
Palms opened up with a pretty good inventory, but since it was George Maloof,
locals' expectations were high and most were actually disappointed with the Palms opening. There were some good games, just not too many of them. The Palms then improved noticeably over the following months (bucking the overall trend in
locals' casinos), but started cutting back over the last year or so. It still
compares pretty well with what it had when it first opened its doors, except
for those four Gamemakers that had PE and 10/7/80 DB in halves. 
Other locals casinos have opened up tight and then loosened up. The Cannery is
an example. One locals casinos wannabe (the Westin Casuarina) has kind of
followed this pattern also. They may be reconsidering reaching out to locals after getting murderized by that ill-advised new member promo. 
Strip resorts are a little different. They don't generally vary too
far from what the competition offers. The V did open with 10/7 DB on Lucky Draw
machines (remember that?) but I think it was a mistake, and they were gone very
quickly. It also had dollar PE, but so did several "competitors" (Bally's,
Paris, NYNY, and LVH). And there were some good progressives as a result of leftover meters from the Sand's closing.
I think Wynn sees the V, CP and his former resorts across the street, as his main competition.
Some people will say that new strip places will be very tight at the start,
"to pay for the building". There is something to that idea, the real point being
that a new strip megaresort is attraction enough to bring in the crowds and that
the machines can be "tight" and they will still get a great handle and get off to a roaring start. I don't know if this actually works out or not. A big majority of those folks who come at the start won't gamble all that much. Of course they will be paying more than $400 a night for their room and no doubt big bucks for the restaurants, so it won't matter that much.
Maloof actually discussed the opposite theories in an interview when the Palms
opened up. He said he would neither open tight then loosen up, nor open loose
then tighten up (I'm not sure those were the words he used), but would open
where he would stay. It kind of made sense that since the plsce was a cross between a Strip resort and a locals place, that he would find a "third way". Actually, it didn't work out exactly like that, but after three and a half years he's about where he started, so he wasn't far off.
On the other hand:
When Wynn opened up Mirage and Treasure Island (or shortly thereafter) they
were very competitive. Mirage Resort's .67% CB led the strip (along with NYNY),
and with 9/6 JB at both places, and NSU Deuces available for a while at Treasure
Island*, Wynn Resorts were good places to play. Based on that past, I think some
folks expect that he might surprise us. In a good way. I hope so.
*Actually some NSU showed up on multiplays at Mirage later on (this was after the CB was cut to .33%, and I think, after the MGM takeover), but that was short-lived.

I vote for 8/5 Bonus Poker in quarters. I know I'm going out on a
limb by predicting full pay. They'll have three or four scattered
around the floor, strategically placed by the Wheel Of Fortune banks
so that we won't miss a moment every time someone hits a "Spin.".
