Wynn 50 points for 2 buffet for new signups is back - I was told it was
Mon-Fri, but double check Friday may not be correct even though that is what the
boothling said.
My husband originally played 50 points got 2 buffets, at 500 got 2 more,
then played 2000 points on FP machines and was told he could barely get 1 buffet
because it was FP. A nice host did comp him 2 buffets somewhat reluctantly.
Now he played another 1500 points on a "reel" slot (and won a jackpot!).
At the booth the boothling said every 750 points after the initial 500 should
be a buffet - but for reasons unknown to him, my husband had an extremely low
rating. It seemed like the host comp for 2 buffets didn't show. The
boothling had to ask a supervisor and after assorted mumblings, they said he could
now get 2 more buffets.
So apparently FP play really reduces the comp quotient somehow.
Also husband is receiving $50 a week in free play.
Meanwhile on my account, I originally played about 900 points, most on free
play. I got 4 buffets and $75 a week for 2 months. I played additional,
both on FP and 9/6 JB, more than 500 points, plus about 200 points on a reel
slot just to boost my average. On 3rd month I was reduced to $50 a week free
play. I also got a room offer and took it for 1 night just to check out the
rooms (very nice). I checked at booth about more buffets and was told that
the room comp was still on the record, and presumably could remain there
until "paid off" (my words, not his - he didn't clarify). He said to check with
a host.
Upshot of all of this is that I suggest that FP players either forget about
comps or add a little non-FP play in. Reel slots seemed to take about $3 for
a point, versus $9 for VP. I don't know if Wynn has any reels that are
labeled as 98%, but you could look, or try one of the better reels such as
"Blazing 7s". Also there are some Progressive VP machines that sometimes go high
(I saw a 8/5 JB over $7000 for a $1 machine) and lots of 9/6 JB to mix in with
FP.
I must say I'm addicted to the Wynn buffet and really would love to eat it
whenever I go to play off free play. Go early to avoid lines. At 4-5pm we
walked right in.
