wynn buffet update

the vpfree wynn entry says 500 points = 2 buffets. that's now only for
new signups.

existing members have to earn 750 points on the current trip to get
one buffet comped. for two buffets you need 1500 points. if their
explanation is correct, the buffets no longer pile up in your account.
you have to request it and use it on the same trip in which you earn
the points.

it is still comp AND cashback - i verified that the 750 points do not
come off of your account after you get and use the comp.

Good morning!

This is exactly what we were told during most our recent trip to LV (Sep. 24-30, 2008).
We were told at Wynn's Red Desk that 1,500 points are needed for 2 buffets and they do
NOT carry over from trip to trip.

The one caveat that may allow points to "carry over" is maybe if you are staying there.
Each time we aked for a pair of buffets this trip, after some mulling about on their
keyboard, they asked if we were staying at Wynn. We were not. Perhaps, if you do stay at
Wynn, the buffets might carry over. I am just opining, not stating a known fact. Does
anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks for the info fivespot.

Does the two comped buffets for 1500 points include the Champagne
Brunch and Dinner buffets?

Is it good for a line pass? At the Wynn this is valuable given the
(usually) horrendous lines there.

Thanks for any info.

Do you know if the buffets you already had piled up stay on your card
or did they get wiped out? I rarely eat a buffet the same day I play
(tend to play during "off" hours), so I usually only use buffets on
days where I invite a bunch of friends for dinner. I had well over 100
buffets left on my account, but my guess is that they are gone now. Of
course I would love to be wrong.

It is my understanding that the points expire after 30 days
without any play. We regularly get 2 buffets before playing,
having played previously every other week using mailer free
play and cash back and have accumulated a backlog of yet
to be used comps. Yesterday everything worked as usual. As
is the case with boothlings all over, many are not very
educated regarding the details of casino policies.

My experience, not the champagne part. That is extra.

We got a line pass each time.

i have no idea, since i didn't have buffets piled up. i've put in very
little play at wynn, just a handful of days playing just enough to
take friends to the buffet.

i believe so. we got a line pass without having to ask.
