Wynn buffet changes

We agree - the Wynn buffet has gone from one of the top 5 in town to a lot
lower. They've eliminated my favorite sushi (salmon on rice) in exchange for
a spicy hand-roll. The bibb lettuce is gone. Some of the other more
expensive stuff also seems to be cut back. On the last visit there were grapes
instead of the previous bing cherries or other exotic fruit.

The worst change is in the desert area, where part of the area now has
bread. Some of my favorites are gone, like lemon tart (or whatever it was),
tiramisu (though they did have a small version in a cup last time), pecans for ice
cream, floating island (my top favorite), etc. The crepes are totally gone.
Some deserts are now downsized and others gone.

The result is that they have gone from the best deserts at a buffet to one
of the worst.

The prime rib, pasta station, Japanese soup station, cold king crab legs,
and so on remain. But still, it is a major downgrade from what it used to be,
and probably not worth the $33 or so they charge for dinner (of course we get
it comped so I guess we can't totally complain).

Of course you should complain. You're a good player and worked hard to
get your comps.

Vegas is only beginning to feel the impact of high gas prices. It
affects the price of food the buffets buy, and it also will no doubt
reduce the number of tourists driving in from out-of-state.

Casinos need to give people an incentive like the previously great
Wynn buffet as a motivation for coming to town. Harrahs is similarly
thinking in reverse with its 7* and Diamond Lounge cutbacks. They
should be encouraging people, not running them out the door.

Lots and lots of hotel rooms to fill. The casinos better make it worth
your while or there could be closings a'plenty not far ahead.
