I have not won, nor have I seen anyone next to me win at the bingo game.

Don the Dentist

I have won it at least 3 times (but only the smallest jackpot - the
small square 4 numbers at the top left of the card and always missing
2 numbers for the big letter X jackpot( and if I remember correctly,
I had to change the numbers that the machine automatically gives you.
Good luck!

The weekend before Thanksgiving, my husband actually won the small
($50-60) prize while playing on my card. He didn't notice until his
machine completely froze up. The funny thing is that his machine
stayed frozen and it took the slot attendants a good half hour to
figure out what to do. They thought the problem might have been
that I was playing on the same card at the same time, so they asked
me to remove my card while they sorted it out. The whole process
took so long that we went from being elated at the win, to being
sort of annoyed.

I have put in several hours at the Wynn and have never won at the
bingo game. My husband (Mr. Lucky) puts in one hour and hits it
right away.

<< Has anyone won or seen someone win at the Wynn bingo games. We were all

I would be interested if any of the LED guys or other industry insiders here
know exactly how it works. Here's my best guess:

* It's not really a bingo game. Every time you lose you get the exact same
pattern of hits. Changing cards has no effect on the outcome.
* Your chance of winning is directly proportional to your coin in. So
sitting at the nickel machine playing one hand, one coin, and hoping to win
the bingo is not cost effective.
* Each dollar of coin in has a small chance of triggering a win of the small
prize, a smaller chance of triggering a win of the medium prize, and an even
smaller chance of winning the big prize. Prizes reset at $50, $500, and
$7500 when hit.
* When your coin-in triggers a win, everybody in the casino gets a game, but
they are all predestined to lose and it is strictly for show. As soon as you
see a spot that's not part of the losing pattern you know you've won.
* Because the win is triggered by your coin in, you have no chance of
winning a game if you are just sitting around with your card in.

Cogno

That's a nice 'guess' but does anyone 'know' how it really works?

Cogno

I'm responding to a Cogno post, but I can't concisely quote it
because it lengthy and I am basically responding to the whole thing.

I had a meeting recently with Tom McMahon, the Vice President of
Slot Marketing at Wynn (possibly not his exact title. I don't have his
business card in front of me.). We discussed the Bingo game, among many
other topics. What McMahon told me, and what Cogno surmised, are largely
the same. McMahon indicated that casino-wide coin-in triggers the win
randomly, so a $2 Five Play player ($50 per hand) has 40 times the
chances to hit the jackpot as a quarter player ($1.25 per hand),
assuming equal speeds --- which isn't quite true due to W2Gs plus the
fact that you can't play as many base hands on a Five Play machine as
you can on a single-line machine.

He also told me that there is ONE winner in the casino at a time ---
triggered by coin in. That jives with Cogno's premise that the bingo
game itself is all for show and the system knows beforehand who's going
to win. But the players don't. So if you get the Bingo screen on your
machine, by all means play it, "just in case." Not to mention you can't
continue with your regular game until you do.

McMahon also told me that machines in High Limit aren't eligible for
the bonus. Which figures. Someone playing a $25 Five Play machine at
$625 a hand wouldn't be too excited about winning a $50 bonus. This is
relevant if you are playing stakes which can be found either inside or
outside the High Limit area. For example, 9/6 Jacks on a 25 cent Hundred
Play machine ($125 a hand) is eligible for the bonus because it's
outside the High Limit area, but $5 Five Play 9/6 Jacks (also $125 a
hand) found inside the High Limit area isn't.

Although 9/6 Jacks with a 0.22% slot club adds up to less than 100%,
Wynn has promotions for well-heeled players that can make it a good
play. Plus, occasional dining at top-notch restaurants is worth a lot to
some people.

I have won twice, once during my first session and then about two weeks later. Total amount was $97. I was suprised when I didn't win again, I thought it was a great way to make a little extra money. Has not happened in the last few visits.
Cheers!

If it's not a secret, I'm curious what occasioned your meeting. Was it to
discuss the bingo game?

Should I, as a serious player, incorporate into my strategy meetings with
VPs?

My wife and I have each won once, something like $60 each, if I recall correctly. We probably have spent a total of about 20 hours on Wynn machines.

I personally find the bingo games annoying and a bit foolish (nothing like reminding losing players that they suck at bingo as well), but they add a little EV, so what the hell.

Bob,
Can you tell us what type of promotions you're talking about? Also,
what do you consider a good play?
There was another thread that discussed the value of a Wynn buffet
comp---do you value a $200 dinner as $200? 100?
Thanks,
Jeff

John, in truth this is a great deal you've got going at Wynn. You
won $120 at bingo during 20 hours of play and likely were playing
positive vp. In effect, Wynn has been paying you $6 an hour to play
those machines. Pretty good situation, I think! Of course, I'm
presuming that you guys can kepp landing one of those little bingos
every ten hours or so.

A note about Wynn bingo. I've been reading over old posts and something was mentioned that you couldn't do your regular play while the bingo game was going on. This must have been posted by someone who had never actually played at Wynn - or it works differently on different machines. We have played there quite a few times, on various kinds of machines, (and won a bingo game quite a few times) but I have never seen the bingo on your actual VP screen. It is on a little screen on the front of the machine. You can continue your regular play while the bingo game is going on - and if you win, you don't have to even look at the bingo card. The amount you win will pop up as a Free Credit amount.
