Writing the Palms

If you would like to write the Palms with suggestions about their game inventory you should mark them attention:

Todd Simons Executive VP of Casino Operations

Pertaining recent changes to your video poker inventory.

Las Vegas, NV 89103

P.S. You should also know that I have been told the primary reason the Deuces were removed was due to their location. The new owners didn't want any machines near the main doors to dilute the entrance experience. Apparently, the decision to remove all the games up front was made without knowing what they were removing. You can all dispute that as much as you like, but that is what I was told. If true, there is a chance that writing the Palms could have an effect. I wish you all good luck with this.

Did they cut the $1 10/7 DB progressives to 9/7 to reduced machine glare produced by a one digit 9 verses a two digit 10?

Frank, I enjoy your intelligent, low key, non-argumentative and very humorous writing style. I admire the fact that you have not lost your cool, even when you may have believed that you were being "picked on", by other posters, in a vituperative manner.

But, please tell us whether YOU really believe the current Palm's suits did NOT know exactly which machines they were removing. Even if the new management team was so incompetent that they didn't have a clue about VP pay tables, do you have any doubt that at least of one the long time Palm's slot employees would
not have advised them of exactly what they were doing?

I am interested in your comments.

I don't bother writing letter's. I'm coming back to Vegas in December, and I'll just play somewhere else.

I had not thought about it. I asked a question. I was told an answer. As far as the person I spoke to, I believed them, and did not question it until later...and only when it was pointed out to me.

Now that you mention it, it does seem slightly implausible. I just don't know for sure. Here's my thinking in the order it was received:

It is possible the person I talked to was mislead as well...or

This may be another example of my gullibility and tendency to see the best in people while ignoring their faults...or

It's one of my cognitive biases...or

It could be that I try to judge people by their motivations, rather than their actions. When I can't determine motive, the emotional response registers more towards neutral, interfering with my lie-detection heuristic, which normally incorporates anger as a mitigating factor to veracity.

More simply put, if I'm lied to, and it triggers an emotion other than anger, I'm extremely unlikely to notice the lie. I had not thought about this in such detail until brought me to task. Thank you very much! I will work to correct this.

It appears I had a flaw. Gosh, good thing it was only the one:)
