WORST Video Poker?

Just for a change of pace,
What is the WORST video poker that you have ever come accross (or
seen someone playing)? Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto has both 25c
Full Pay Pick'em and ***$5 6/5 Jacks or Better***. How's that for
unusual!?
So, what's the worst you've seen?

I don't know if they still have it, but the Rio had a 6/5 DDB game in
quarters.

Just about any machine in the state of Oregon.

Any video poker in British Columbia, Canada.

They have Jacks or Better, Really Ugly Deuces Wild and Double Bonus poker. I recall that the Double Bonus paid 40 for a Full House, 25 for a Flush and 20 for a Straight. I cannot remember the Ugly Ducks except that the payout was 92%. Yuk!! The machines are all 10-coin and you can play quarters or dollars.

I would have to say that the 2 WVA racinos that I've been to would be
the worst. These would be Wheeling Downs and Mountaineer Park, each
with 3000 machines. I ran their VP pay tables thru WinPoker and they
were all in the 91-91.5% range. To add insult to injury, these are
quarter games and you must bet 8 coins or the RF will be shorted.

6/5 JOB w/ quads paying 15 for 1. The first time I saw it was in
Atlantic city - perhaps the Claridge because the machine was next to
a full-pay 9/6 JOB. Then I saw the 6/5 with short-pay quads again in
Indian casinos, so it must be a popular game. If the RF pays 800 for
1, the return is 92.6%, and if the RF pays 250 for 1, the return
drops to 91.4%. Ouch!

The race tracks in West Virginia have the following pay tables:

Royal 1000
St. Fl. 100
4 of a Kind 25
Full House 10
Flush 7
Straight 5
3 of a kind 3
2 pair 1
JOB 1

I think the percentage on that paytable is below 94%

Are these machines in West Virginia random video poker machines or
some kind of modified video lottery slot machine?

As I mentioned in a recent thread, the Louisiana truck stop and bar
machines are pretty bad. From the device specifications section of
the law that governs these machines:

"a maximum expected payback value for one credit that shall not
exceed 94 percent of the value of a credit based on optimum operating
play strategy;"

Note that this 94% max. restriction does not apply to real casinos in
Louisiana, such as Harrah's in N.O., it only applies to the truck
stop machines. I'm not surprised that people will play these bad
games, since many gamblers will bet on anything put in front of
them. But what really amazes me is the fact that people will play
these machines for hours at a time when there are real casinos with
99%+ VP nearby, (not to mention comps and cash back) - sometimes
literally right across the street.

I just posted an analysis of possible explanations regarding Lousiana truck stop VP under the original thread: "What is 'hold'", which I've renamed to "Truck Stop VP". Any further info you could provide would be interesting, and in particular, do you know whether LA law sets a minimum payback? My contention is that it is, contrary to recent speculation, quite possible that the actual return on those machines might really be only 65% rather than 90% or so as I think you suggested might be the case.

Cheers.
