Donno. But, you can play real Hold'em with tough players on the play money
part of pokerstars.com The pros who write the books on how to play scoff at
play money as "unreal" I investigated it and found in the Stars Sit and Go's
[sng's] that after the initial silly all in players get bumped the play is
tough with little bluffing like in real money poker and the final tables take
much longer to complete because of the seriousness of the players. The reason I
think is there are three levels of play money sng's and you can't advance to
the 50k buy in until you do well in the 2k buy in and the 300 buy in. The
bottom line in play money poker is you see the exact same cards as in real money
and learn by doing that your wonderful ace high flush gets beat by a full
house because you keep not noticing that, unrelated to your hand, pair on the
board and ignore it. You keep thinking the guy raising you is bluffing, he's
not, he has the full house and you don't. So... my theory is you can learn
Hold'em with software and books or just by many hours of play money sng's. Where
as video poker, no. You have to study on the computer to learn VP.

In Hold'em you learn a texture of the cards same as in playing video poker.
You ever notice when playing Jacks 9/6 that it's sort of boring and hitting a
quad is nice but you don't get the "I got well" feeling like if a Double
Bonus quad. The most boring video poker game I ever played was the now defunct
Jacks 9/7. I'd play an hour and my Franklin would still be a Franklin. When I
play Jokers I go away with the words in my mind "The Jokers killed me" because
of the variance. From doing play money sng's I learned if you don't get some
monster hands you don't win. Beyond the basic skills Hold'em is luck.

Anybody dare to disagree with me??? I'll tell Oscar Goodman if you do.

p.s I had another CAT bus moment last night. I'm riding my bicycle from
Vegas to Henderson to work an hour after the rain stopped and when I get to
Boulder and Harmon I see a dark object on the sidewalk at the bus stop. I get
closer and see it's a body with the head over the curb. I realize maybe a hundred
cars have gone by and nobody stops. I stop, yell to the guy "Hey buddy you
alright" Brilliant huh?,lol If he were alright he wouldn't be laying like
that. I call 911 for help. Longhorn casino security comes out and says, "Well,
this is off property but did you call 911?" That's the way security guards
are. "If It's not on my site I don't care" kind of an attitude. The paramedics
show up, Metro shows up. The paramedics of course have more training than me,
JT, so they lean down and smell the guys breath and start shaking him
violently and yelling for him to get up. He was just a passed out drunk. An
interesting thing happened next. The cop asked the guy the obvious questions, were
you robbed etc., then the cop asks the guy if he was waiting for the bus. The
drunk says yes and the cop asks if he has a bus pass. That made me wonder if
cops have free bus passes for undesirables just to get them off their beat.

From the delay I'm not faster than the bus anymore so I wait a few minutes
for it to arrive and put my bike on and board. The drunk boards too. He
continues to be out of it and by chance gets off the same stop I do which is by a
large chuck of desert inhabited by about 400 Bush And Cardboard condominium
association members. You should see them come out in the morning. It's like that
baseball movie, build a field and they will come, out of the mist. Anyway,
the bum doesn't know or realize I'm the guy who 'saved' him. He keeps looking
back, seeing me as a homeless person because of my bicycle and backpack. I
get the feeling he's thinking of me as a heater... or worse. I ride off in the
night to my post.
JT, wait... I signed this already
