Woodbine Pick'em software 'update'

So it is true,
when I was there they changed the paytables on the $0.25 and $0.50
Bally Pick'em machines to short pay. Also looked like all the
remaining $1.00 machines were slated for the downgrade. However, the
handful of $0.25 Pick'em machines built-in to the bar weren't changed
and did not have signs saying that they would be anytime soon.

I did manage to hop on a $0.50 machine for the first time just before
the change and scored a 4 of a kind.

Where else in the Toronto vicinity can I find full-pay Pick'em
machines?

thanks,
nick

I think there still might be some at Niagara Falls.

When were you there? I was in last night 9pm - 1 am. The
following machines were powered down and roped off;
- all (12) 50-cent slant-tops.
- all (12) 25-cent uprights in the back corner.
- 5 of the 19 $1.00 machines in the southeast corner.

At this time the PRESUMPTION is they'ye changing the
paytables.

When I put this question directly to one of the suits, he
denied it. His story was that they were simply installing
bill acceptors that will accept the new currency.

Did you actually SEE a machine powered up with the new
tables?

However, the handful of $0.25 Pick'em machines built-in

Nor did the $5, $2, and remaining $1 machines.

Where else in the Toronto vicinity can I find full-pay
Pick'em machines?

Slots at Georgian Downs (Hwy 400 south of Barrie) $1.00

Slots at Flamboro Racetrack - $.25

Great Blue Heron - while I haven;t been there for over 2
years, at that time they had $1 full-pay, (quarters were
short-pay).

In October, Casino Niagara had (2) dollar machines
(uprights - top floor), and (5) fifty centers (slant-tops -
lower level overlooking escalators).

Well, it was nice while it lasted! I guess if "advantage players"
want an opportunity, they will have to forego Woodbine's 25c video
poker and try Rama's $25 blackjack!

Rama still has the triple/ 5play 9/6 jb and 9/7 db. With cash back and bounce back and comps, it is still a reasonable play.
If you are a quarter player, however, it is a wasteland.

Any update? Can someone confirm it was just the upright $0.25 and
slant top $0.50 Pick'em machines at Woodbine that were changed to the
shortpay (10,000 coin RF) paytable? Are the $1, $2, and $5
unaffected? (Funny, but if it stays this way, you'd be much better
off playing the $1 machines with one or two coins than playing the
$0.25 or $0.50 machines). Are the bartop quarter machines still full-
pay?

Any update?

The updates were posted on the main vpfree board.

  Are the $1, $2, and $5 unaffected?

Over half of the $1 have so far been changed.

Are the bartop quarter machines still full-pay?

Yes, at the moment.

Was there today and the place was packed, people still playing the
short pay machines ($0.50 was loaded). However, I noticed that the
bar $0.25 machines are still full pay with no 'upgrade' notices in
sight, maybe a reprieve? Anyways, I now play the $1 machines but
with just 1 coin, got a straight flush today (pays $200 with 1 coin
in) which was nice so I left up for the night.
