Wong's VP

I have not been able to get Wong VP to run on XP Pro but I have used
VPEXACT once in a blue moon for separate three of a kind games like High
Fives or Nevada Bonus.

Wow...Your knocking the cobwebs out of the old brain. Probably a lot of
dust in there too. I sort of remember the analyze thing now. I think we
could choose a number of games to run. I'm going to dig up my floppy
that has Wong vp. I also have a Wong bj program somewhere. I imagine
programs would work on xp pro. I have a couple win 98s around too.

Have a good one....Jeep

FWIW, it's the first time I tried to run it, but Wong VP fired up just
fine on my XP Pro system.

These posts made me dig into my old discs. I found "Video Poker Analyzer".
This was a dos program by Stanford Wong. Later Stanford Wong offered a
discounted upgrade to Villa Crespo. The title on the Villa Crespo disc is
"Stanford Wong Video Poker". I also found the disc to upgrade Villa Crespo
to ver 1.1. I was able to get the Villa Crespo to run but not VPA. I tried
to fix the disc with Norton Utilities but no luck.

I bought VPA from Pi Yee Press 15 years ago. Here is a quote from their
website today.
"Stanford Wong Video Poker requires color. If your computer cannot handle
color, ask for Video Poker Analyzer."

Besides 16/10 NSUD (EV=99.73%, var=25.78), the Orleans high-limit area also has 12/4 Double Bonus Deuces Wild (EV=99.81%, var=40.39) on the same machines.

[Note to Admin: the above is not currently in the database. I suggest the following entry:

     < 12/4 DBDW (99.8%) >

     (8) $2/$5/$10/$20/$25 MG/MD/TITO uprights in high-limit area.

There is an entry for BDW (99.8%) at smaller denoms. Perhaps these machines are really DBDW?]

Two or more Village Pubs (same owner(s) as Ellis Island) have 10/4/4 Bonus Deuces Wild (EV=100.35%, var=42.47). This is one of the better $1+ EV plays in Las Vegas, and is available 24/7. Denoms are .25 thru $5 (10-coin), effectively .50 thru $10. I credit Elliott Shapiro for posting this information to the group a couple of months back. I have verified the existence of these machines at the Flamingo/Pecos and Sunset/GVR locations. They're rather slow dealing the cards, but not terribly. Beware of machines with shorted paytables! Especially 3 for a full house or 9 for a straight flush. The 10-coin royal should be 10,000 coins.

[Note to Admin: perhaps there should be a Village Pub page in the database? The location(s) of each machine could be specified as well.]

However, as the variances suggest, BDW and DBDW are highly volatile games, similar to Double Double Bonus. Play with care! In a few hours (or even less!) you can easily go through 1000 betting units.

I have created strategy cards for these games, complete with the penalty card situations. If anyone is interested in obtaining a copy, please contact me by private email.

I would like more information about these games,
please. My wife and I leave for Las Vegas Tuesday
11/15 for a long stay. We are hosting a dinner at the
Outback Steak House in the Casino Royale Wednesday
evening 11/16 if you could make that. Writer Scot
Krause is scheduled to attend. Email me or call my
cell anytime 214 325-2410

A total of three locations.
Sunset near Renatas, Eastern at Wigwam and Flamingo at Pecos.
Other Pubs do NOT have the correct schedule.

I don't get much past the poker room and the 10/7 DB at the poker bar,
so let me ask: where is the Orleans high-limit area?
