The "Probability of ruin" for "multi-line VP" section of the Wizard of
Odds web site is closed for repairs. Does anyone know when it will be
back up again or if there is another web site I can use to do my
calculations?
Thanks,
Quads

I'm directly responsible for the fact that that section of the Wizard
of Odds' site is "closed for repairs". About 6 months ago, while I was
working on Dunbar's Risk Analyzer for Video Poker, I noticed an
internal inconsistency in the Wizard's RoR/Bankroll tables for multi-
line play. I wrote to him about it, he agreed with my observations,
and that part of the site has been shut down ever since.

Hello!
It is always great to see your comments here. I just want to say that I still find your VP
analyzer still of interest and of use. My question here is along the lines of "What have you
done for us recently?"....LOL
Namely, are you still working on adding "multi-line" capability to your VP anaylysis "tool"?
Thanks!

Thanks, bl.
I am still very interested in adding multi-line capability to
Dunbar's Risk Analyzer for Video Poker, but that feature will not
happen in the very near future. However, I have made some
significant improvements that I hope to have ready within 2
months.
These improvements have to do with the "Short-term" or "Trip" risk-
of-ruin calculations. Instead of getting just the Trip RoR, the
program will give you a distribution of results for the
specified "Trip" or "Session". It will tell you the chance that you
lose (or win) 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% of your original "trip
bankroll". These results are presented in a pretty cool chart (if I
do say so!)
For the times you go broke, DRA-VP will tell you the chance of
playing various number of hands.

How will upgrades such as this be made available to current users of
your product? Will this be a free upgrade? Priced at some fraction of
the original cost of the product? Or a "new product" which requires a
new purchase?

That sounds GREAT! I will be looking forward to them.
(LOL. Maybe with that improved software, I will have to change my "handle')

Steve, I haven't decided yet, but it definitely won't require an
entire new purchase. At the most it would be a fraction of the cost
of the original.
