This is one of these extremely close plays where the closer the discards are to the middle, the more the stiff deuce is hurt. For the 25c FPDW player the difference is less then 9/100 of a cent so I would not worry about it. Since I am from the Chicago Area playing the same machines as "Ednar" I have to worry about a very similar but more complicated situation in NSU when holding a three card open straight plus a deuce.

suggests holding 10s, As, 2c. However, if the 7d is replaced with
either the 6d or the 8d, Winpoker suggests holding only the 2c. I
guess that the 7d is supposed to be a penalty card for the dueces,
however, I don't see it. Can anyone help me understand this?
