win poker

I added it to my new computer with Vista. It works , but not properly. The sounds aren't right and there is a lag when running the program. I haven't tried a re-install yet though.

Like others, I have not had any problem loading into Visata and
running. Wish I could help you, but there is hope.

I have Winpoker, version 6.0.5 running with no problems and no issues
on two different Vista machines and one XP machine.

For those that are not aware of this, sometimes it helps with older
(pre-Vista) programs to run them on Vista in the "compatibility mode"
(although I do not have to do this with Winpoker on either of my Vista
machines).

To switch on the compatibility mode, right click on the program icon
in your program files and select the "properties" menu item. There is
a tab called "compatibility" and the first item on that sheet is a
check box where you can tell the system to run the program in
compatibility mode and below that, a drop down window where you can
select the flavor of windows you want the system to emulate when
running the program.

Another switch that might help on that same page is to select to run
the program as an administrator.

Hope that helps!

I've gone to my Program Files -Not sure what you mean by "the program
icon in your program files...".

I've right clicked on the program file folder for WinPoker, but don't
see a "Compatability" tab.

That should have said that I right clicked on the WinPoker program
file, clicked on the "Properties" tab, but didn't see a
"Compatability" tab.

The Compatability tab should appear along the top of the window = the
tabs appear in this order 'General' 'Shortcut' 'Compatability' = Check
Compatability Mode and run in compatibility with Windows 95.

I believe the problem is with the Winpoker installer, not the program
itself. And it appears to only in[act certain version of Vista.
Perhaps a compatibility problem with 64-bit versions?

Compatibility mode changes will not help make the installer run. You
need to:

1) Contact the programmer as someone already suggested and they can
likely provide a modified installer.

or

2) Install the program on a different computer and then copy the
entire program folder (for example - "c:\program files\bdpw6") onto
your vista computer.

The Compatability tab should appear along the top of the window =

the

tabs appear in this order 'General' 'Shortcut' 'Compatability' =
