Wi-Fi Downtown

Krispy Kreme is gone for the Fitz. The D, (the new name of the Fitz) has
removed it to make room for an outside exculator.

Veering slightly off topic, there is a free app in the apple store (free wifi finder), which will find all free (and paid, if desired) wifi sites near you. It is very slick, and works around the world, even in Las Vegas.

Also I brought my ipad last year, and would not pay for extra for wifi, but I found it perfectly acceptable to drive (had a car, of course) to the nearest McDonald's, buy a coffee, and plop myself down and surf to my heart's content (even though it was 60 degrees there, I loved the fact that I was 80 degrees warm than home at the time).
And of course, I got to see free entertainment (unhappy McDonald's customers throwing their food, starting fights...good fun). Needless to say, the ipad never left my sight!!

As I said in my post on this subject, you don’t even need to go into the McDonalds to use the free Wi-Fi. I’ve stopped at them in my car and used WiFi from the parking lot. It’s very handy if you just want to send a quick email. I don’t always take free advantage of this – I do buy an ice tea from time to time.

Is it called something like--jiwire? I like this version because you
can download (and store in your computer/device) all the locations
of free wi-fi--in case you're not near a hot-spot location. . . . . I try to
up-date it whenever I leave for a location that I'm not as familiar with
the hot-spots. Also, this app was free. . . . .

That's it exactly--I don't use it except when I'm in Vegas, so I had to check--would probably download the database from home, because I think it is quite large, and my device doesn't allow cellular roaming. As the Queen of Comps might say

"free is good"

Good luck!!

When I stayed at the Four Queens, usually three days at a time, I would buy the wi-fi for one 24 hour period, usually on the second day. For ten bucks I didn't have to lug the laptop around downtown.
