Why we choose vp over other games

If there existed a slot machine with a regulated payout of 100.1 percent and a variance of
15.0, would you give up video poker and play that game instead? What about a payout of
105 percent? My wife says no to both questions; I say yes to both.

Assuming the slot machine in question was just as boring to me as most other slot machines:

100.1% - No
105% - Yes

carlos

PS But if the 105% made loud repetitive irritating noises, HELL NO. My mininum payout for that is 110% :slight_smile:

depends on the variance
lottery, 8 spot keno, sequential royal?
not interested
N0=variance/(er-1)^2
N0=number of hands when average return catches up to standard
deviation=84% chance of winning
even for something as "low variance" as fpdw+.25%cb, N0=260,000 hands

100.1 and 105 payout slots with low variance would provide my ideal
casino experience. With positive expectations and no chance for
mistakes, I could play like a monkey and use the time for deep philosophical thinking.

Can anyone remember when we used to go into casinos and not
hear "WHEEL!.........OF!........FORTUNE!!!!!" every 2.5 minutes?

...and those lame Hollywood Squares machines. The jokes weren't that funny when they first aired on the show, why would they be funny after hearing them a hundred times?

At the KC Isle of Capri, the only thing wrong with playing my favorite AA machines is that they are near a bank of VP/Keno machines that emit a LOUD "explosion" sound every few minutes (I think it happens when the player gets into some sort of "bonus" mode). If you're sitting right next to them and you're not expecting it, the noise will make you jump out of your seat. Try concentrating on All American with THAT distracting you. :slight_smile:
