The best antidote for the rising rates of all things Las Vegas would be a
new casino in Barstow. This would choke off a significant amount of SoCal
traffic & then you'd have the "Thunder Valley" reaction -- cheap rates, bounceback
mailers, and a genuine appreciation for your business.
For best results after casino opens, defer all trips to LV till bounceback &
room offers rise to levels you've never seen before, then deign to pick up
the phone & fit them in between trips to other gaming destinations.
You may be amused but everything goes in cycles. Don't know where the peak
is but there's no cheap interest rates to sustain this sector. When room rates
& show prices start falling, don't book right away because they'll probably
go lower. If not, then why not Reno?
