This is totally unimportant, but I wonder how "Pick 'Em" got its
name. Is it because you have two cards and you've got to pick
between 'em? Or... is it because the full-pay version at 99.95% is
essentially an even game, so that there is no "favorite"
or "underdog"?
Why is it called Pick 'Em Poker?
Why is it called Pick 'Em? I don't know for sure, but I suspect that
your first guess is close to the truth.

Now for a more difficult question. What's the story behind "All
American" Poker??? I can understand Deuces Wild, Joker Poker, Bonus
Poker and Double Bonus Poker (bonuses for quads), but All American?
I suppose "same pay for full houses, flushes, and straights" doesn't
have the same ring to it. I have read that this game was once known
as "Gator Poker", but that name doesn't have much connection to VP
either.
