Because casinos still prefer to have low-denomination games with
higher house edges.
I'm not the math whiz that many are around here, but it seems straight forward to me- they hold more on the lower denoms because they don't return as much. .05 return on a $1 machine is .25 per hand (max coins)- on a .25 machine that is only what- .06? And on a nickel machine that is only a penny? That seems pretty straight forward why.....
