The difference between these 2 games is that the straight flush pays
100 bets in Triple Bonus Poker Plus and 80 bets in White Hot Aces. The
other payouts (in the best version that I know of) are:
Royal flush: 800
4 aces: 240
4 2s-4s: 120
4 5s-Ks: 50
Full house: 9
Flush: 5
Straight: 4
3 of a kind: 3
2 pair: 1
Jacks or better: 1
Since these are often the best games that casinos have, I think there
might be some interest in making a complete list of the differences in
strategy between the two. I find that comparing strategies between 2
similar games is a good way to learn both strategies. At the risk of
reinventing the wheel, I've made such a list of differences in
strategy from White Hot Aces to Triple Bonus Poker Plus, assuming all
the above payouts, that is meant to be complete. I hope my work can be
checked for errors and omissions (and redundancy, in case a list has
already been published):
QJT suited beats KK, QQ, or JJ if it has a flush penalty. This isn't
meant to imply that it doesn't beat the pair when it doesn't have a
flush penalty. It already does that in White Hot Aces and this is
meant to list the changes from that.
KQJ suited beats KK, QQ, or JJ if it has no flush penalty and there's
an ace or a 9 in the hand. As with QJT suited and a high pair, it
already beats KK, QQ, or JJ if it has no straight or flush penalty in
White Hot Aces.
JT9 suited beats JT98 or a pair of 5s through tens if it has a
straight penalty. It already beats a pair of 5s through tens without a
straight penalty in White Hot Aces.
QJ9 suited beats a pair of 5s through tens.
JT suited beats KJ if it has a flush penalty and no other straight
penalty (although, since this only adds 1 bet of profit per royal that
is hit with the draw, I don't plan to do it) or if it has no flush
penalty and the other 2 cards are an 8 and a 7.
JT suited beats an ace if it has no other penalties besides the ace
and the ace has 1 flush penalty or if it has no straight penalty
besides the ace and a 7 and the ace has 2 flush penalties.
3 to a straight flush with no high cards and 1 gap or 432s beats 2
high cards suited except that KJ suited beats T97 suited and T87
suited, AK, AQ, and AJ suited beat 542, 532, and 432 suited, and QJ
suited beats all such straight flush draws.
4 to a straight flush, open ended, beats a flush.
KJ9 or KQ9 suited beats AKQJ.
I plan to play this game at Hooters. Are those $1 machines still there
and are they still the best game there, as the vpFree database says?
Does Hooters ever have multiple point days? How much play does it take
to get a room comp?
