Where to stay?

I am planning a quick weeekend trip to LV and am in the process of
determining where to stay. My first choice is the Palms; however, they
want over $200 a night and I'd prefer to spend $100 or less. I have
offers from both treasure island ($89 for friday and saturday) and MGM
(99 for fri and sat), Rio for 105 per night and am also looking at
gold coast and las vegas hilton. I will probably go Nov 21-23.
Although I have been "out of the loop," I understand the Gold coast
has greatly reduced fpvp? My reason for staying there would be it's
proximity to the Palms. I won't have a car but am in good shape. I am
planning on playing 9/6 JOB and 10/7 DB. I know about the database and
have been checking it out but would love some advice. Thanks

I suppose it depends on your goals. Are you looking for best room/hotel?
Best video poker? Best chance at comps? The TI rooms are a good product, their
staff is friendly, and some of their rooms have a stunning view of the Strip.
I know they have $ FP JB. The Hilton is a relatively easy comp with decent
quarter and dollar VP, but no 10/7 DB. Rio has a very nice room and not much
decent vp, but the Palms is just a stroll through two casinos and a parking
garage away. Check individual hotel sites for specials. Avoid convention dates
and other busy dates; Comdex, I think runs through 11/21. You will find a
better deal if you are flexible. If you have a card with a property you would
like to stay at, call the number on the back to see if the casino will offer
you a better rate. Be sure to check Phil Fieldman's LA Times hotel deals:
http://home.earthlink.net/~mjceditor/ladeals.html Some hotels will send out E
mail deals so sign in on their site. My apologies if you know all of this
already. The choices for digs in LV are myriad and what you choose is dependent on
your own specific requirements.
