Where to stay?

I am planning a quick weeekend trip to LV and am in the process of
determining where to stay. My first choice is the Palms; however, they
want over $200 a night and I'd prefer to spend $100 or less. I have
offers from both treasure island ($89 for friday and saturday) and MGM
(99 for fri and sat), Rio for 105 per night and am also looking at
gold coast and las vegas hilton. I will probably go Nov 21-23.
Although I have been "out of the loop," I understand the Gold coast
has greatly reduced fpvp? My reason for staying there would be it's
proximity to the Palms. I won't have a car but am in good shape. I am
planning on playing 9/6 JOB and 10/7 DB. I know about the database and
have been checking it out but would love some advice. Thanks
Aaron

Unless you have a real desire to be on the strip, I would suggest Main Street Station.
They have the machines you like, Rooms are fine, food is good, comps are reasonable, scratch cards make for good cash back. If you play in the over 4k per day range you will probably get your room comped.

Regards
A.P.

Aaron,
Operating under the assumption that you are primarily a quarter
player (like me) and knowing you will be without a car I would
reccomend either the Rio if you want a nice room or Gold Coast if the
room size and quality is not of great importance. In either case the
walk over to the Palms is a short one.

If your play is the prime directive of your trip and Gold Coast type
rooms are sufficient, I would think you would want to give downtown
some consideration. Many plays to choose from and cheaper room
rates. -JFR

Thank you all for your replies. I had considered downtown and have
stayed at MSS but prefer to be eithe on the strip or right off it (ie.
gold coast, palms, rio area). I am primarily a quarter player though I
may try some dollar and even five dollar JOB if I'm doing well. The
rates seem to cheapoest across the board the weekend of nov 21-23 (I
cant travel at any later date than that). I imagine I'll probably book
te Gold Coast and visit the Palms and the Rio. If anyone is in Vegas
over that weekend, perhaps we can meet up. Thanks again.
