I sure don't understand all this talk about casino GREED.
If the customers continue to
patronize a place that is sucking in their money then they must be doing
something else right to keep them.

Randy,
I agree 100% - and I'm afraid that all the "bring the Coast to their knees"
posts of a year ago couldn't have been farther from what is actually
happening.
Recently the Orleans announced plans for a 3rd tower, bringing their room
inventory to just under 1900 rooms. The place continues to be packed, and I
doubt this is because of the few 10/7's that have (so far) survived the
purge. As I said earlier, most people don't know or care what the paytables
are, but whether or not the casino has "loose" or "tight" machines. I
haven't been to the Suncoast in a while, but I suspect the same is true
here.
As a visitor it is getting more difficult to find a good game that gets me
some food, occasional rooms, and a chance to break even in the casino. What
will happen if there are no more seats for me? I suspect I will find
something else to do, somewhere else to travel to. When will this happen?
Probably not soon as competition may force some places to try and lure "us"
in. But as with everything else, this will be cyclical. It will tighten,
then loosen. Look to Sam's town over the past few years to see this. As
they say, "things are never as good as they seem, nor as bad as they seem at
any given moment".
So the sky is not falling, but it sure looks a little bit closer to the
ground from where I stand!
BTW, since you are UCLA alumni and my son goes to Cal,(golden BearPA) are we
supposed to disagree on stuff like this - just for the sake of rivalry?!
Cheers!
Pa
