donate. Some of the obvious choices are to donate to the American Red Cross,
Salvation Army, and Habitat for Humanity.
Animals have also been terribly affected, as many evacuees were forced to
leave behind pets, often by the National Guard at the point they were
evacuated. The American Humane Society has animal emergency relief, as do other
animal relief organizations, and they are also listed.
