My thanks to everyone who offered advice on how to go about getting
that 30% withheld amount back. Knowing where to start is a major
part of the battle.
And, I agree with MJRaposa (#23344), that tourists, indeed, enjoy the
benefit of tax-payer funded services while they are in the US. I was
being somewhat narrow-visioned when I wrote that comment.
I think that we do contribute to some of the items mentioned through
airline fares, taxi fares, hotel room charges, etc., but would agree
that these direct contributions may not totally cover the value of
services potentially available to us.
