When do you leave a video poker machine ?

Heading out to Vegas next Tuesday, and just have a couple of questions regarding strategy ? Maybe it doesn't even fall into that category ?
1. How long do you stay, or how much money do you use at video poker
machine if it's not paying ?
2. How long to do you stay at a machine if you hit a run of some full
houses, some flushes, a 4 of a kind and some straights. When do you
   decide to walk away.
Does Aria have any good video poker machines ?

I have been playing many years, only get to vegas twice a year, but in 10 years only hit 2 Royals? Pretty sad. But, when I play those games on-line that tell you how you did have x amount of hands I always do great? Maybe just a born loser. LOL

I'm reading an interesting book about investing in stocks and the author, who believes that the movement of prices of stocks are random, patternless, and unpredictable, pointed out something that I believe is also true of gambling results. Just changing the tense of the phrase "this machine is running good (or bad)" to "this machine just ran good (or bad)" might do a lot to correct a common misunderstanding. I'd change the phrase "it's not paying" in your question to "it didn't pay" and answer by pointing out that it doesn't matter what just happened if it's not still happening.

From vpFREE FAQ:

"Switching Machines - Players can switch machines for many
reasons, but all other things being equal, changing machines
doesn't change future expectations in any predictable
manner."

"Money Management - Money management can help stretch a trip
bankroll, and may contribute psychological benefits, but can
also result in lost opportunities when positive plays are
terminated prematurely. All other things being equal,
quitting play for a session because of profit or loss
considerations doesn't change future expectations in any
predictable manner."
