What's the funniest hold you have ever seen

Guy was playing deuces wild. Every time his hand had an eight in it
he would hold it. If he had a deuce and and an eight, that is what
he would hold. I finally could not take it any longer and asked
him what was magic about the eight. He said it was the birth day
of a couple of familiy members. He said that he had been told that
doing so was costing him money, but that he did ok doing it.

Playing at the Mandaley Bay, I saw two drunk young women working a 50
play, nickle machine like it was a slot. One gal would hit the max
play button and if any winning combinations were noted, her pal would
applaud her efforts. The driver never held a card, she'd just hit
the deal button throwing away winning cominations. Since they were
clueless and really drunk I decided that disrection was the better
part of valor. It also reconfirmed for me that Darwin was right
about a lot of things. I suppose one could argue that Max EV was not
their goal

Funniest holds....

This young lady sits down next to me at a 50 play machine. She plays
all 50 hands and on her very first hand I hear her mumble "nothing?"
I looked at her machine and sure enough she had won exactly 0
credits, which is pretty hard to do on a 50 play game. Except when I
looked closer I noticed that she had held all five cards from a non-
winning deal, thus assuring herserlf that she could not win anything
at all on that hand!?! Needless to say, she didn't last very long at
that machine.

I also remember a lady playing a 5 play game next to me. She was
apparently having trouble operating the machine, but I wasn't paying
much attention to her. After a few minutes she finally asked me "how
do you get the machine to hold the cards you want to keep"? She had
been playing a game of "toss all" for that entire time, because she
couldn't figure out that the "hold" buttons were what you use to hold
the cards.

Sat next to a guy that was falling asleep between hands. I mean
really sleeping. He woke up, held a lone 4 and got quad 4's.

had a lady set down next to me put a $100 in a 10-7 DB and saw her get
dealt pair's of 2's - 10's and not hold them, only held pair's of J's
or better and would not hold a single high card, and after about
5min's her husband walk's up and ask if she is doing any good and she
reply's no can't catch any thing, what made it funny is that one time
when she threw a pair of 2's she drew the other 2's and did not get
the $400

Over the years I have seen several people play like this. I can only
guess that they think since the machine says you must have "Jacks or
Better" to win anything, they must figure that it is useless to hold
the lower pairs.

Maybe similar reasoning applies for the people that you will
sometimes see hold cards like "22A" in a deuces wild game. After
all, the machine says you need 3 of a kind to win anything, and "22A"
gives you trips - right?
