What's the big deal?

Of course I would love to play a VP that pays over100% all the time. Playing
in AC exclusively that is not an option. That being said the word is out
that the new Wynn Casino has installed some. So I am jealous ok. Now lets see
how much of a big deal this is for the casino and player

For argument sake to make things easy mathematically lets assume a RF shows
up every 40000 hands and the player plays 800 hands an hour and plays perfect
strategy. Now lets assume the machine at full pay is 101%. Without hitting a
RF it is about 99%.

Now we will assume a player puts in 5 hours a day or 4000 hands. The machine
handles about 20000 hands a day in a 25 hour day. The machine hits a RF
every two day while the other players are playing at 99% return. So how much is
the Casino really risking by putting in some full pays? To me it is a come-on
promotion and will only afford them a profitable outcome by attracting more
traffic Of course the hardcore player may see a small profit if he hangs
tough. Does this make sense or am I off base?

Easier math:

On a dollar FPDW assuming perfect play the casino loses an average of
approximately 3.8 cents per play. Assuming 800 HPH on 9 machines,
that's approximately $6650 per day, or a bit less than 2.5 million
dollars per year.

Hi Grumpy. You're right. It is a "come on." Supermarkets do the same
thing...sell something below cost to get people in the door. I think the
term is "loss leader." This is a good thing.! The casino gives the
customer a better deal then the competition does and increases the
casino's profit at the same time.. More casinos should do it. Dick McK.
