What would your bankroll be...

I like playing DDB, and on my next trip I'll be there for three full nights (short trip). I prefer to play at the $0.50 and $1.00 levels, but I'd like to be relatively conservative this trip so I'll say $0.50. I'd guess I play about 1,200 hands per hour based on practicing at home and playing at the casino when I'm focusing. And I'm going to say I play about 3-4 hours per day, so let's say instead of a specific time, I'm looking at a coin-in of $10k per day.

What do you guys feel would be a "comfortable" bankroll for $10k a day on $0.50 9/6 DDB? I know it's a negative-expectation game so ultimately the risk of ruin is 100%, but I'm not a professional, and I feel that I'm getting my money's worth out of that level and enjoying myself.

I'm sure others will give a more accurate answer, but my "napkin numbers"
come up with something in the range of $4,000 - 5000 for the duration of the
trip. Might be a bit high, I'm accounting for a lot of variance, it could be
as low as 3 large.

That's a pretty good estimate. Using Dunbar's Risk Analyzer for Video Poker, I get these RoR's (assuming no errors, no tips, no cashback):

Bankroll, RoR
$3000, 6%
$3500, 2%
$4000, 0.7%

Those figs are based on playing $10K coin-in per day for 3 days. (12,000 hands of 50c DDB)

Just a comment...

The Dunbar VP software is great, useful and fun to use. It runs on a PC (not Mac). It is available for purchase, from Dunbar, at a very nominal price.

I use it a lot and recommend it highly.

Also, I am not associated in any way with Dunbar and have nothing to do with the sale of that software.

Ah! Sorry! The Dunbar software cannot handle multi-line computations like 5-play. For that you would have to look at Dancer's Video Poker for Winners.

Again, my apologies for jumping in with a mis-leading answer.
