Subject: XVP (sorta)- What to do with cashI've been playing VP for about 2 years but until my latest trip had
never hit a royal flush, where in fact I hit 2 in consecutive days.
This led to a problem that I never really thought about. I was
already hauling around more cash than I normally do and now I had much
more than I wanted. What do most out-of-towners do in this situation?
I thought about maybe opening an account at Bank of America (not just
for this because I'm thinking this won't be a problem I have that
often). Ended up hauling the cash home with me and depositing it with
my local bank, but I think that wasn't the optimal solution to the
problem. Some folks on this list play regularly and I'm gussing even
above the .25 cent level like I do. What's the best way to deal with
this should I ever be lucky enough to have this problem again?Jeff
In no particular order:
1. Ask for a check in lieu of cash.
2. Deposit it in a bank/credit union which is affiliated with your home
bank/credit union.
3. Deposit it at casino cage as "front money" which they like & then take it
all out when you're ready to go home.
4. Pay bills via your bank/credit union.
5. Loan me the money & make a friend.
Tax tip:
6. If you're behind or forgot to pay estimated taxes, ask the casino to
withhold part or all of your winnings. Unless their matching system has
improved this may help you to avoid penalties if you missed a payment or two.
