what to do in case of robbery/theft prevention

Sorry I'm late reading messages and late in replying. If a bag is stolen in
a casino, the first thing you need to do is report it to casino security and
request that they look at the VIDEOTAPES. Not only will they be able to see
who stole item, they may be able to follow the person and see if they throw
out the bag somewhere where it could be retrieved. In the case of
wallet/passport/$ stolen, it is especially important to try to retrieve the
bag, even if the $ is gone.

Secondly, report it to the police. Thirdly, report loss to your insurance
company, it may be covered in part or all!

If the casino is unresponsive in viewing videotapes, keep going up the chain
of command, right to the casino manager/owner.

Obviously the son-in-law missed some common sense advise for gamblers.
1. Keep your wallet and passport on your person.
2. Never put a bag/purse/other item down on floor if it is valuable.
3. Never put your purse or bag over the back of your chair/hanging from
chair.
4. Never put down cups/racks of coins unless your hand is on the cup.
5. Always be on the lookout for pickpockets, especially in casinos, on
streets, and on buses, as well as in crowds. Watch out for DISTRACTION
technqiues such as people saying you have mustard on your coat, coins falling
at your feet, people spilling drinks, people crowding you.
6. At night always double lock your hotel room door and put any purses or
wallets far away from the door.
