What IS the Eastside Cannery THINKING!!

I love the ES Cannery, but I gotta vent about their promotions lately!!

To preface, no one has to agree with me :)..Everyone has their own opinion, and rarely will it coincide with mine and I also know that "if I don't like it, don't play" applies :)..I'm just sharing my amazement at how much I used to love the ES Cannery Promotions, and now how much I hate the ES Cannery Promotions.

1. Lines.Lines.Lines. - They have a new wallet day thing. You can now get up to (2). HOWEVER, if you are a high flyer, you get in a long line and wait..wait..wait and you get ONE wallet. Then you need to go across the casino to wait in another line (which is really, really long) to get your other wallet.

So, we went today and didn't bother getting wallets. I figure that I would be spending way over an hour waiting in line. (I stopped going to any M promotions after I waiting an hour for the wheel thingy). I'm just not waiting in those kinds of lines. (so in my what were they thinking file..would you rather have me gambling or waiting in line?)

2. Cannery Girls - this one is total personal preference - But the yelling for cash is annoying. So, I've crossed off friday nights. First, I'm sedate :).I'm not a boisterous yeller (I'm a non drinking stick in the mud), and I'm not going to scream for cash. Its annoying to listen and even more annoying to participate. AND its a promotion that god only knows how they pick who wins.

3. Left Overs - Tomorrow is trinket left over day. Choose from the trinkets I already have. Must be cleaning out their storeroom. I went to all the Trinket nights. I have them all. I really love them (there is no accounting for taste is there?). So I received a card in the mail offering me left overs. Trinkets I already have..I can get again (can you give me a big yahoo).

4. Select Rewards. Okay Promotion, bad that the XLarge Jacket is not XLarge. Its for really skinny people with long arms. Unlike most gamblers, who for the most part, are not beanpoles.

So..crossing my fingers and hoping for a better February

yea how about some multiple point days...

More about their ?THINKING? The wallet promotion (under which you would receive an additional wallet by earning 300 points ) was scheduled to last until 4PM. Sometime prior to 3:30, security would not allow anyone to get on the line to get their earned wallet(s), stating that there were no more available. No announcement was made over the PA system, so people were continuing to play to earn them.
Assuming a hundred or so people were shut out, they should have given everyone the $5 minimum rather than antagonizing them.

PS; More great thinking: They recently discontinued the VIP access line to the Player's Club with the explanation that ineligible people were using it.

as of 10 it $4 per point on the 100% bay of FPVP. This makes 1600 points per dollar of cash back...UGH!!

Wait, I know this one from the early '70's when I was still ok, "Line,
Line, everywhere a Line, Waitin' for my sawbuck, Not playin' a dime, Hey,
stand here, Then go stand there, Only one more Line"--- My apologies to the
Five Man Electrical Band. When we walked in around 12:45 and saw that the
line went from the bell desk over to the south corner, then to the right
past registration, past the gift shop, past the restrooms to the next N/S
aisle, we walked right out the door.

Let's see if I got this right. They make the rules of the promotion, we
don't. They purchase the wallets, we don't. We as players honor the play
requirements that they make, and then they just decide to pretend that
nothing happened? So instead of accomplishing what a promotion is designed
to do, which is create a buzz and bring in new players, this one allienated
a significant portion of the players that they already had. Good job,
Millineium.

PS; More great thinking: They recently discontinued the VIP access line to
the Player's Club with the explanation that ineligible people were using

it.

So, they first wrongly penalize the players for obeying the rules, and then
they eliminate a benefit they gave High Flyers because they were wrongly
letting people who were not High Flyers use the line. And this is our fault
how? I must have wrongly assumed that the Y in the VIP line column under
High Flyer stood for YES on this month's mailer.. It might stand for You're
Dreaming. Further evidence that two wrongs certainly don't make a right.
I would guess that their thinking was, if you shoot yourself in the foot,
you look funny when you walk, but if you reload and shoot the other foot,
the walk will appear more normal. Or, maybe both of the Bill Brothers took
a poison pill to avert a corporate takeover from the multi-hundred dollar
conglomerate across the street, the Longhorn.

P.P.S. For those that may have missed it, the new swipe and loiter promo.
at the sister Cannery North was an even bigger clusterfrick. On Mon., Tue.,
and Wed. nights between 6 & 10 p.m., you can swipe for free play or cash.
For our level, the minimum is $10, and with coupons that we both have, they
will double it to $20. We went to the buffet, which we had a freebie to,
and were done eating at ten minutes to six. We saw that the closest line
already had 40 to 50 people in it, so we joined the stampede. Since the
wife has better vision than I do, she picked out a tall blond guy who was
like 1st or 2ond in line to see when we started to move. At 6:15, tall
Arian had not moved an inch, so wife takes a stroll to find out why. One of
our club buds told her that all 8 kiosks in the building were down, and that
they were working on the problem. Five minutes later at 6:20, the
aforementioned bud came down the line and made the same announcement to the
restless natives. I guess at about 6:40 they finally got the Costco
software working in the Commodore 64, and the line began inching forward. A
non smoking snail with good cardio and some pilates training would have
blown by our line like we were standing still. Oh wait, we were kind of
standing still. Wife goes back up to scope things out. Then she finds out
that they have to reboot the machine about every 6 or 7 swipes. We were to
find out later from an employee that we trust, the kiosks were not actually
"down", but even with almost a months knowledge of the promotion, someone
had forgotten to download the promotion program for January into the system.
Oops! Since by this time, I was on a mission from God, we continued to wait
and after only two hours and ten minutes, at 8 pm on the nose, we did the
swipes. My $10 cash was doubled at the cage with my coupon and the wife had
the pleasure of waiting in the High Flyer line at the club to get hers
doubled and downloaded. On FPDW, I turned her $20 into $17.50. If you fall
into the glass half full category, we each made more than $8.50 an hour by
loitering. Waitresses were not happy either. Maneuvering around the
snaking lines took them longer to cover their area, and they could not get
any tips from people in line that wanted a free drink, as they could not
bring any free drinks because none of us were playing a machine. Let's say
60 people per line, 8 lines, is 480 people standing around not gambling.
How is this positive for the bottom line? After the marathon wait, how many
are going to feel like risking more than the free play? Wonder how many of
the line participants walked away either warm or fuzzy?
