I am not trying to be facetious. Not in the least.

More important than what the best paytable for DW is, is what is the
best DW paytable available at a given casino? Or what is the best DW
paytable available among casinos in a given area (say, Atlantic City).

Quite often the same casino has two different paytables for the same
game, in different sections of the casino. Sometimes (make that many
times), this also depends on the denomination. What's best may be
available at a $5 or $10 denomination. Bob Dancer, we are all not.

Don't stick with JOB 9/6 just because you read it in a book. A good DW
game is far superior to JOB 9/6.

By all means, learn and play Deuces Wild, too\. Fun\.

Best paytable is 25-15-9-5-3-2-2-1 (you have to watch for all 8 numbers, not just two like jacks or better). This is called "Full Pay Deuces Wild" or FPDW, and it's damn hard to find.
Next best is 25-16-10-4-4-3-2-1, this is called Not So Ugly Deuces (NSU) and it pays out slightly less than 100% - but slightly more than 9/6 jacks or better! It's rare, but easier to find than the Full Pay version.

Not to take anything away from your opinion, to which you have every right, everyone has
their own opinion as to what they like best.

For the "newbie", try them all! Talk to others to get their "opinions". But, in the end,
determine what YOU like best and enjoy t!

Some will "play the field", some will settle down to one or two favorites. Also, over time,
tastes may change. In any event, in the final analysis, each has their own personal
"favorite(s)".

There is a 9/6 version of JoB that only pays 2500 for the royal.
This results in a 98.88 percent. Almost faked me out one time.

She said she prefers playing Deuces Wild, but believed she should be
playing JOB 9/6, presumably because it affords her a better chance of
winning over time. Perhaps she has this impression based on reading
a VP book, or what friends have told her … I don't know. However,
the "NO" table on this site (Values of `No' for Various Games) lists
five Deuces Wild games that are "superior" than JOB 9/6 (Loose
Deuces, Downtown Deuces, Deuces Wild, Deuces Deluxe, and Not-So-Ugly-
Deuces) at the most common levels of CashBack. Only Bonus Deuces
Wild is listed below JOB 9/6. Once Cashback reaches 2%, then they
all are roughly equal, however, this cashback level may be
unavailable. So my suggestion is she look for one of the DW games in
a casino with the highest cashback, and if she finds it, learn the
strategy. I've never agreed that beginners should start by studying
JOB 9/6, because the reality is the odds are very slim of getting
ahead over time playing this game. IMHO one of the Deuces Wild games
(if available) is a better choice.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. It is personal opinion and one should play what one likes
best, not what someone else likes best.

That was all I was trying to say.

We all play for different reasons and with different goals. One size does not fit all.
