What is taxi charge from airport to Stardust?

Could someone please give me a recent taxi fare from the airport to
the Stardust or nearby properties? I will be in LV in two weeks and
would like to know if the fares have gone up dramatically in the last
two years, the last time I've been there. Or would it be a wash to
rent a car for 4-5 days. I have the reservation so do know this cost.
Thank you,
Joe

You may want to consider the shuttle services as an alternative to a
taxi. Rates for the Stardust should be around $5 per person. Once at
the Stardust you can use the 'Tightwad Transit' to get around. Sam's
Town runs shuttles from the Stardust through Sam's Town to several
places on the strip and to downtown.

The cost should be around $13. I routinely take cabs from various
strip hotels and it is always between $11-$15. Good Luck.

Hi there Joe

If your going to the Dust and are staying put, hey, the cab is fast and
cheap. No BS. If you want to casino hop, I'd rent. When I go Vegas,
it's usually 6 - 7 days. I like wheels. If I'm doing bad in base casino
I can travel around. Also, 6 days of being stuck in one place gets
stale. Just one guys opinion.

I'm with Jeep. You'll have a very different vacation with or
without wheels. Walking, the bus, cabs and the monorail leave me
exaused. Not to mention the occaisonal exposure to a mental patient
or extreme B.O. A rental car allows complete freedom to follow your
whims. Best of all, with valet parking it's easy to get in and out
of almost any casino in a snap.

about $13 to $19 depending on time and route. Many cabbies will take "the scenic route" - out of airport, left on tropicana, right on LV blvd straight 2 miles to Stardust. But these can be some of the slowest 2 miles you have ever ordealed

Tha taxi's are Las Vegas worst ripoffs. Even if they go the shortest way from the airport which is the Swenson Exit, S on Swenson, E on Naples for one block, S on Paradise to Convention Center and then West on Convention center to the Stardust, you still pay $3.20 flag drop, $1.20 airport fee, $2.00 per miles and every 37 seconds 20 cents for time if stopped at a light or in traffic. Then the driver expects a gratuity. You are looking at a $15 minimum. If he rips you of by illegally taking the airport tunnel you are looking at close to $30. If you have baggage the shuttle van services are about $5 each - have exact change and the amount you want to tip as they often assume a larger bill is just a tip.

If you just have a single roller bag or less, you can take #108 from the -0- level at the airport (one level below bag claim -out the dorrs to the far right) for $1.25 and get off at Paradise and Convention center and walk the very long block (just under 1 KM) to the Stardust. At this time of year the weasher is good. The #108 runs every 20" most of the day and every 30" 9pm-130am.

A host offerred another suggestion if you play a lot. They can book you a limo (it is $40 one way) and it's charged to your room. If you play enough and earn enough in comps -remember if on a free stay you need 800 points a day to pay for your room- they will then just charge it to comps.

If you are a quarter player unless 2 of you on the same card such as spouse, significant other, roomate etc playing quarters it will be hard to get this comped. At the 50 cent level it's doable. At the $ level, not a problem.

By the way, if you also plan to travel around in town you can buy a $5 all day pass from the driver good for 24' when you board any CAT bus.
