The requirements used to be a three month rolling average with a one
month lag. (i.e., play march, april, may, june lag, get mail in July
based on your march play).
There's also the issue of the daily trip average. They want you to
earn a block of points, but if you do this in many small trips during
the month then you'll have a small daily average. The lower the
average the lower the bounce. The best bounce seems to come if your
daily coin-in is over $35-40K, although, I think there's a level or
maybe two higher than this.
Since the recent changes and from what's been posted on the boards,
the rules are different if you only play with a fp advantage. Also,
since the new system, no one really knows yet what all the
requirements are, the negatives of only playing fpvp, or the actual
new bounce totals.
With so many unknowns, we've simply stopped playing the Palms. We go
in and collect our current bounce and when that's gone we'll just wait
this one out. We've also stopped playing the Palms because we just
don't like the way the new policies were implemented. We don't like
the fact that Mr. Maloof courted the local vp players to build his
base, but then pulled the rug out without warning or any real explanation.
I'm not really bitching. I know casinos are businesses and their goal
is to improve the bottom line. I don't have a problem with that. I
believe in capitalism. But, with this belief system, I also believe
in spending my money and time somewhere I like and feel comfortable
with the business policies. The Palms just doesn't rank there right
now (in some ways it never has since it was other players who figured
out the requirements, not an open statement from Palms management).
I prefer systems like many of the other local properties currently
offer. Earn a certain number of points, get a certain level of
benefits. You know what these two factors are going in and can adjust
your play accordingly.

I've been playing there since March, now residing comfortably between
MVP and HOF level, and outside of my initial "Welcome to Palms, 2/1
buffet" offer, have never received a mailing. I've asked a couple of
times at the booth, but have received only shrugs.
Is there something I'm missing? Are fullpay players excluded? Any
local knowledge would be appreciated.
