What do you tip a limo driver?

Hi again

Had an early flight out of Vegas. Decided to return my rental and got
a ride in LVH limo to airport at 4:30 AM. I'm glad I did. I needed
all the time I could get for check in. If I would have had to return
the rental I might have missed my flight. Question: what do you tip
the limo driver? Based on my winnings the limo driver would have had
to pay me, but that's a different story. Here is what I figured. A
cab would have cost me about $15 with tip. It's been a long time
since I used a cab too. I hope I figured cab right. So my tip to
driver was $15. Let me know what you all think. I have no idea if I
was on the money or too high or low. The driver did thank me very
much and was nice to me, even after tip. So I think it was ok. I
still wonder though.

I think your $15 was pretty much right on the mark for a casino to
airport transfer. Frankly, since if you had contracted for a limo it
would have run somewhere around $40-$60, even a $10 tip would be
generous, using a 15% tip guideline. I personally err on the liberal
side of that.

When a limo meets us at the airport for a pickup I never tip less than
$20. They're pretty much in place to meet us at baggage claim a good
10-15 minutes before the flight's due in (probably more) and the
assistance right from the carousel is much appreciated.

I never thought of figuring tip from cost to rent limo. I should
have; much like I should have thought of taking a paper and book
folder from my 6 lb over weight bag at airport check in. It was a bad
trip. I'll give another shot at a good trip in Nov.
