What are the odds?

15a. What are the odds?

Many times when I have sat down at a deuces machine, someone will
tell me that they or someone else just got deuces on it and they
always seem frustrated that I choose to play it anyway. Funny thing
is - when I am told that before I even start playing I normally get
the deuces. Other times, I go deuce-less. errie huh?

Same superstition or ignorance as when people think that the person who acts last before the dealer at blackjack "controls" the game, and if they play badly, that it affects everyone else's chances of winning. When I explain that their play (bad or good) will take a good dealer card as often as a bad one, because you don't know what's next, they still don't get it.

Of course, if I'm card counting, and the deck is favorable, I want the other players to "stand" and let me draw from the favorable deck (unless, of course, they will promise to only take the "bad" / small cards, and of course, unless I get a bad hand and need them to use up the "good" / large cards so I have less chance of busting).
