Has anyone heard when NTH Advisory Group is going to break ground on
their Hooters Casino in West Wendover? I went thru there last week on
my way back from Vegas. Three areas on the main drag have been
cleaned off. I was just trying to figure out if one was for the
Hooters Casino and who else might be building there. I know the Red
Garter was up for sale has anyone heard if it sold or not?

If you question any of the long time locals about when the next casino
will be built in Wendover, their likely response will be "I'll believe
it when I see it."
There have been lots of proposals over the years but no one ever
follows through. There was new interest generated when the Peppermill
properties built the concert hall and started bringing in "name acts."
The EBIDA numbers for the Peppermill properties shot up and this is
what created the new interest.
Sam Black, from Mesquite bought the pad just to the west of the truck
stop. It was a speculative move on his part. He announced no plans to
build a casino there. Just bought it to sit on it.
The Hooters group came in and got all their proposals approved by the
town council. It was not going to be a Hooters themed casino. They
were supposed to break ground a year ago. But nothing has happened.
The pad you saw on the south side of the main strip between the Rainbow
and the Wendover Nugget is where the Peppermill properties are supposed
to move their Human Resources building. That building now sits on the
north side of the road.
Pepp has plans to build a new casino on that area. But somehow or
another that got put on hold too.
So as the locals say "I'll believe it when I see it."
