We're Off to Vegas

Hi Gang:
Hedy and I will be flying to Las Vegas Tuesday for a seven-night stay at
South Point that will include our participation in the BARGE tournament at
Binion's Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Hedy will break her maiden in tournament
poker when she plays in the Significant Others Stud and Hold Em tourneys,
beginners events that we're told are a lot of fun. Hedy's a bit anxious about the
prospect but is looking forward to taking part.
We finished off another negative month (they're getting a bit tiresome
now!!) in AC this past weekend at Harrah's. Just to point out how bad we're going
these days, I played about five hours of VP on Saturday on various games and
did not hit ONE quad. Thank God for Hedy, who hit aces on DBDJ halves for
$400 and quad threes on STP DB with a 10X multiplier for $1,000. Our loss was
barely into four digits, which for us these days, is almost cause for a
celebration.
Anyway, we did take part in another celebration Saturday night at Harrah's.
It was a Seven Stars party called "Pirates of the Harrahbean." Most folks came
dressed in Pirate garb and the sitdown dinner, singers and band were
excellent. In our opinion, it was a major upgrade from Harrah's New Year's party
which we felt fell far short of Harrah's standards. The main course featured
prime rib and lobster tail and came out piping hot besides being delicious. We
passed on the appetizers and desserts but they looked yummy as well. There
was an open bar as well as money and gift giveaways, but we were not fortunate
enough to be on the winning end of any of the prizes.
I tried to sharpen my Hold Em game for BARGE by playing in a $1-$2 no-limit
game for three hours at Harrah's on Saturday before the party and wound up
winning a whopping four bucks!!
So, what do you do when you're involved in a long, painful losing streak?
You go to Vegas for seven days, of course!!!
Let's hope Hedy's royal drought ends and we can put together a couple of
winning days at our favorite LV property.
Regards,
CoachVee (Tom V) & Hedy
