Hi Gang:
I'm happy to report that Hedy and I are officially back in action after
our two-month post-op hiatus.
Unfortunately, the VP Gods did not welcome us back with open arms as our
first couple of renewals of "casino wars" definitely did not come out on the
correct side of the ledger.
We began our return aboard the Norwegian Gem, where we took a seven-day
cruise to Florida and the Bahamas out of New York, courtesy of the Harrah's
Corp. The best VP we could find onboard was 9/6 DB in all types of
denominations and multi-line games but the smoky casino and the lack of playable
games limited our gambling time. I also dabbled in some blackjack and played
in two Hold 'Em tourneys onboard but didn't have too much luck there either,
although I did manage to bubble in the first HE tourney I played,
duplicating what I did on the Jewel last August.
We returned from the cruise last Saturday and lit out for Harrah's AC
Sunday for a two-night stay. Again, the VP road was a rocky one although we did
enjoy meeting up with Misscraps, her husband Ron and Siona for a very nice
dinner in Harrah's Steakhouse Sunday night.
We'll be right back at it this weekend at Harrah's when we celebrate
Hedy's son Kenny's 40th with a birthday bash in the Steakhouse. BTW, if anyone
has any extra tickets for the George Wallace show this Saturday night we are
very interested. We'd be willing to swap tickets for any other upcoming
Harrah's show.
Happy Thanksgiving to all on these boards. And I'd like to add my thanks
to everyone who sent along their well wishes after my hip surgery. All went
well and I'm doing better and better every day. Now, if the machines will
only begin to cooperate we can start to fully enjoy the holiday season!
