Wendover

If you've been to the Peppermill/Reno then you've been to the Wendover

Peppermill properties. They have the same neon glitz motif. <<

I think the rooms over at the Nugget are equally as nice. (The Nugget had
been consistently better with free room mailers and Freeplay than any of
the other places in town.) The last mailer I got from the Nugget also
included the Red Garter (free play, food deals).

If you get in a wrestling match with her jack mormon boyfriend (or

girlfriend, you never know these days), when security shows up, no problem, just
hand them your Diamond Card. They will escort you to your room to sleep it
off. If the jack mormon boyfriend has one of those beginner cards, or no
card at all, he'll be escorted off the property and told DON'T COME
BACK!!!!<<

Based on what I've seen there, I find this hard to believe.

I don't think I would go so far as to say the Nugget rooms are as nice, but they do have 40 channels on the Television. The Red Gutter was famous for the hotel made out of manufactured housing where the rooms went for 22.50 tax and all midweek.

I can't say how things are in Wendover today but I know how it was up until November 2007. One card for all three properties. I didn't need mailers. To get to Diamond Card I ran 1.3 million in action. I earned about 10,000 comp dollars in the process. I had to use them as I went because the comp meters max out at $1500. I initally got .5% comp. But at one of the card levels I started getting passport points (dollars). Then the comp meter ran at .45% and the passport meter ran at .35%. It said in the brochure that passport points were supposed to be used for different things than comp dollars, but that's not how it was. I could use the passport points for anything I wanted just like the comp dollars. I generally used whichever account was higher to keep it from getting maxed out.

Every card level got so much cash each month. I think the low card got like $20, Gold something like $40, Silver got $100, and Diamond got $200. I don't remember the level it kicked in but I also started getting a Jacuzzi suite two nights a month. You didn't need to get all this in the mail. It was in the computer at the slot club booth (information booth).

So I was a Diamond Card holder. My stays in Wendover might have been a a week or two, or two months. I didn't use the flights. I would call and reserve the jacuzzi suite then make a backup reservation for a week using comp dollars. I paid in comp dollars what the real money amount for the room was. If the room was going for $42 that night that's what I paid in comp dollars for it. A week went for about $400 comp dollars.

Upon my arrival I went to the booth, picked up the voucher for the room and the $200 voucher and checked into the hotel. I would arrive the last few days of the month if my stay in Wendover was gonna be short. Because on the 1st day of the next month I had another $200 coming. I also got an extra $200 for my birth month. Like I said, you didn't need a mailer, the money was in the computer at the booth.

It was the same thing at the Nugget for the freeplay. You got free play based on your action. You used a pin number and the money would appear on your machine. You got it twice a month on the 1st and the 15th. I was getting $80 to $100 a month. The comp dollar meter at the Nugget ran .5%. I stayed at the Nugget quite a bit too, and used comp dollars to do it. I bounced through all the hotels there.

The Nugget had multi-game quarter progressives in a couple of the bartops, .4% meter. The best game was 9/6 Jacks. I banged on them whenever there was a good number. They also had a slant top bank multi-game dollar progressive out on the casino floor, .75% meter. Best game was 9/6 Jacks. And I banged on it too with a nice number. Sometimes the promotions at the Nugget were workable.

I stayed in Wendover for as long as I wanted to. I ran lots of action and got RFB and a lot more for doing it.
