The longest royal drought in the recorded history of western civilization
came to an abrupt end at exactly 2:32 PM on Sunday November 19th. The
location was Slots a Fun on triple play jacks. A very appropriate setting for a
celebration, no?

The culprit? My lovely wife/gambling partner/partner in crime. The
length of the drought was 7 and a half YEARS! She got our first royal in May of
1999 at the Reno Hilton. Since then I have had 17 quarter royals, 5 nickel
royals, and one $$ pick 'em royal. To give you an idea of the of the width and
depth of this streak she has gone to LV/Reno/Laughlin about 50 times in this
7+ year period. We play usually on the order of $5000 to $8000 a day
between us, with most trip being about 3 gambling days. You can do the math on
royal cycles, but it must be close to 15 cycles in this 7 years. For about a
year and a half we played a lot of pick 'em, so that will skew the results a
bit as well.

Through all of this she has been a real trooper, continuing to give it the
old college try. I do have a few knots on my shins from the times I have
hit a royal next to her, but she hasn't smothered me with a pillow - yet.

Anyone else even come close to a streak like this?

  Cheers!

Well give her a kiss and the dog a pat on the rear...or vis versa.

I have been twitching since my last June 2005 quarter royal...a dealt one.
It isn't the lack of royals but the 95% return since then that dampens my
spirit.
