Over a month ago I got a mailing from Caesars saying that 2 "VIP" tickets to
Celine Dion were waiting for me. When I called I was told I could PAY for
the tickets. I then contacted a host, who told me that she would comp 2
tickets and that they would be for tonight, April 3. I tried to pick up the
tickets in advance at the box office but was told they could only be picked
up after 4:30pm on day of show.
So I am sitting at a machine at Caesars today, waiting for my husband to
arrive so we could go to dinner and show. Then my host shows up and tells
me, "sorry -- but the show is overbooked so you can't get your tickets!"
But, she added, "You can get tickets for Sat. night instead." I asked her
what sort of tickets they would be and was told that I'd been booked for 2nd
balcony - so much for the "VIP" part! She said that since I was bumped I
will "probably" get 1st balcony seats on Sat.
All this doesn't make much sense to me. I booked over a month ago, and at
that time I had to give a credit card to "guarantee" my "comp" tickets. If I
could be bumped - what sort of "guarantee" was it?
And why is it easier to get tickets on a Saturday night than a Thursday?
All in all not a nice experience, especially since I put through about
$40,000 on triple play 9/6 JB today ($1) and lost $$ before I was told my
tickets were "moved to Sat." Fortunately I didn't have other plans for Sat.
- but what if I had flown into town for this show???
Anyway it all makes no sense to me.
