Dear Friends,
The news is that VP is alive (but not so well) in Vienna.
To continue our Vienna saga, my wife and I visited the Wien casino on
Kaertner Strasse (across from the Astoria Hotel) this evening. We saw that
there were something like 6-8 multi-game machines scattered around those
parts of the casino that we visited, with 2 versions of VP (deuces wild and
jacks or better). Strangely, whenever we saw anyone playing any of these
multi-game machines, Keno was the game of choice. For deuces wild the
paytable is 1,2,2,3,4,10,15,25,200,250; the jacks or better paytable is
1,1,3,5,6,9,25,100,250. The max coin bonus is for 10 coins (not 5). The input
is 1 euro. There is no slot club!
There is a "bonus" mode for jacks or better. Namely, if you get any 4-of-a-
kind, for the next 10 rounds, a second 4-of-a-kind will have the same payback
as a Royal, that is, 250 per coin in or 8000 coins with max coin input.
The other "benefit" of the casino is that, if you are a first time visitor, for a 21
euro buy-in, you receive 25 special coins. Thus, my wife and I bought in for
42 euros and received fifty 1-euro coins. There is a special slot for inputting
these special coins.
Not having any of our notes or strategy cards, we simply used a FP Jacks or
Better strategy and played 25 rounds each, at 1 coin in (50 rounds total). We
walked away with 60 euros. We were winners of 18 euros. The best winner
either of us had was a single 4-of-a-kind.
So, there you have it. Our bottom-line advice is don't spend unnecessary time
or money to get to Vienna to play Video Poker at the Wien Casino. LOL.
