If you
want even more noise reduction, my friends say go for BOSE headphones.
They swear by them for airplane travel and I noticed them using them
quite a bit last casino trip.

I just bought BOSE headphones, slightly used, on eBay. Used them on my
recent Red Eye trip. Even when there was no music (most of the trip) they kept
sounds out of my ears, even that of a complaining child in the next row, and
allowed me to sleep. I'm a believer!! They have something they call 'noise
cancelling' headphones.. mine are not those I believe, but they sure worked
well to lower the noise level.

I tried the Bose noise cancellation headphones. Didn't buy them --
too expensive and didn't crank out enough volume for me. Ended up
buying a pair of Radio Shack headphones with noise cancellation and
an in-line volume control. I looked around a bit and they were the
only ones I found with both features. I've already used them on a
couple of plane trips and they are bliss! I use the ones that sit on
top of your head. I can't stand the ones that go in your ear.

Thanks again to everyone for their experiences.
