watch out for erroneous room charges - especially at Venetian

Watch out for erroneous room charges when you received comped rooms (or
food). Always get a copy of your bill upon checkout and check your credit card
statements.

The Venetian overcharged me not once, but 2 visits in a row. On the first
trip, the extra room charge was semi-understandable, because there was some
confusion over whether I had booked a 2 night or 3 night stay - in either case
all nights were comped. In the second case an unknown charge for $147 popped
up on my credit card, even though when I checked out my balance was zero.

I then had to contact my host, who had to contact accounts receiveable, who
then had to contact the credit card company; and I had to dispute the amounts.

This actually is not the first time I've had a wrong charge show up at the
Venetian, so they seem to be more prone to mistakes than other casinos.

This is not the way to impress a good player!

I've had a similar problem, but it involved miscoding food and
beverage tips onto my room bill. When I charge meals to my room I
always write on the receipt "Cash tip" (and I actually leave a cash
tip, too!). At checkout a couple of times I've had some odd numbers,
like $8.60 for a $150 meal, show up as a tip amount on the room bill,
and tips aren't covered by comps. It's always been a small amount,
but the dispute process takes a lot of time, and I've found front
desks and hosts often have a hard time eliminating charged tips once
they're in the system. And yes, I'm usually tipping at least 18-20%
in cash.

The same thing happenned to me last year at the Flamingo and then again later at
Caesar's. Both times I had to go through the hassle of calling their accounts department to
have the charges reversed and what were comped rooms.

The Venetian has _the_ _worst_ reputation for this BS.
I've heard tell of them charging CC's one year after the fact.
Watch out.

You can say that again. Make sure the two cheap robes are in the
closet at check-in. Believe me, they are not cheap if they are missing
after check-out. Be especially careful in rooms with obstructed / poor
views. It is common practice for people to go to the room, steal
whatever they can get their hands on, then go back to the check-in desk
to demand a better room. I think that it is rare for them to inspect
these rooms prior to attempting to stick them on someone less choosy.

I've always found the MGM's system the worst.

I'll go on a marketing offer, room, food, and two shows.

It's inevitable that "the system" always misses something, and strangely,
it's always in their favor.

I'll check out, receive a $0 receipt, then dred when my credit card bill
arrives. The MGM will have cleverly overlooked removing the charge from
something, included in the offer, but overlooked. Usually it's the priciest
of their lousy casino-cabaret shows. What really got me was tha LaFemme was
so bad I walked out from bordem, and they late charged me.

I always make a copy of my marketing offer before I surrender it at check
in, always get a copy of my $0 check-out (that always annoys the clerk -
they just don't understand why I want one for $0, DUH).

They've refused to reverse disputed items on early disputes, now I have to
fax them their offer to remind them what their offer #XXXXXXX says.

Jerks.
