Whenever I talk to a host or management at a casino and they ask
what I play, I always say slots (thinking that they might be trying
to distinguish between slots and table games). Only when pressed do
I say that I play a mixture of slots and video poker. And never say
that I play only video poker even though that might be 100% of my
play.
What do others say?

Just got back from LVH this morning. On this subject
i have to say then when i checked in with the player's
club desk to update my addy & get a new card i did
notice a slight change in his demeanor when i replied
VP to that question. I didn't save the brochure but if
i remember correctly it said $30 of VP play = 1 point,
$15 slots = 1 point. Right now i only grab the general
concept of being comped not quite the math of it as in
my % when i play.
I do know that i was pleasantly surprised when i went
to collect my comps for the room that i got cash back
which paid for my take on the plane lunch & shuttle to
airport.
On the subject of AA if you all are referring to All
American VP then the only working machine can be found
(as of thursday 11:30 p.m.) in the space casino to the
left after you go down the center ramp. There was 4-6
VP but only one worked. Lucky to have found that one
as we were told by serveral people that it either
wasn't there or sent to slots that had a simular
name/logo. Wasn't comfotable on it so only played 30
hands.
Mostly played in the sports book area on the 25 cent
VP 9/6. Have to say that i enjoy LVH almost empty
casino compared to the strip's jammed packed can't
move atmosphere.
Did get 4 aces on an airport VP machine @ which point
i walked away feeling good sice i broke even.

You beat me to it, rp. Anyone who has any dealings
with a host knows they can pull you up and tell what
machines you played on, what time, what you ran thru,
etc.
I visit the slot club desk to get a card and get my
cashback. Any questions I have are addressed to a
host.
In this day and age, if the card is in then they
know what you play.
