warning - re Harrahs Vegas vanishing points - other vanishing po...

My limited experience includes sessions t the Rio on their .25 BP
progessives. It has taken as long as 10-15 minutes for the points to appear. So far
they always have, but it can be annoying since I only play there when they mail a
"BB with X point" coupon and having to wait around for the points to show up
before I can cash the coupon is a PITA.

There is a problem at some machines at Harrahs Las Vegas where your points
accumulate on the machine, but when card is removed the points may or may not

show up on your Total Rewards account. Problem seems especially prevalent
on
bank of VP machines near escalator going up to 2nd floor Mardi Grai tower.
This bank includes a 9/6 $1 JB. Other VP machines including another $1 JB
in
area on opposite site of main aisle are also affected.

Problem is intermittent and has been reported several times, but currently
still going on.

To ensure your points are showing - before you remove your card, note down
amount of base points. When you are ready to leave pull card in and out 4
times (fully letting the message appear that says how many points you have).
At
the end of 4 pulls if those new points do not show, they probably are
"lost".

Contact the Slot Supervisor (ask slot technician to call them). Sherry
Hankins is one supervisor who knows about the problem. They can track the
play
on individual machine and probably be able to confirm your points.

You may also want to have the slot tech confirm your point total before you
remove the card if you have a large number of points.

--------
Similar problems have been reported in Harrahs Laughlin on some machines. I
don't know if this has been fixed or not.
--------
Problem seems to be on machines installed about 6 months ago, not on all
machines, but it wouldn't hurt to double check all machines in Harrahs/Rio
properties.
---------

Actually it might be a good idea to always write down your points before you
play, then before you pull card in any property.

I had problems with lack of double points in Gold Coast on one occasion.
Some Palms machines have had "vanishing point" problems on occasion (usually
right before a drawing - go figure) and recently some non-double points have
been reported.

So make sure your points are not only accumulating while playing, but also
actually staying in the account once card is pulled!

Best, Linda

I've found that even when the machines are acting screwy on the day you play, if you are patient and check your account on the web site 2-3 days later, the points eventually DO show up on your account.

How this will work (or not) with their claim to offer Same Day Cash Back starting in November, we'll just have to see.
