I was playing penny 100-Play Deuces Wild last night at GVR, something
I rarely do. Using NSUD strategy, I was able to make $100 in the
brief period of time I played. One of my dealt hands was a 4 to the
Royal which gave me some regular and wild Royals. Because of this,
I'm wondering if in these multi-play games it is best to try for
Royals more often. I imagine this may have been discussed on the
board before, but I just checked the Wizard of Odds site and didn't
see anything there so I thought I'd ask here. Thanx.
Wanted: Multi-Play Strategy for 50/100 Play Machines
Everything that I've been told, and have read, by the most
knowledgeable players, is that the strategy is identical, no matter
how many lines you are playing. In fact, because the error is
compounded by the number of hands to which you are drawing, it is even
more critical in multi-play to stick to the proper strategy.
~Babe~
P.S. I LOVE 50 and 100 play and play them often. I never stray from
the proper strategy in order to "try for a royal".

The short answer is NO, do not alter strategy.

Since you did not state in your post, and I don't believe that GVR offers an
actual 100 play penny NSUD game, it appears that you were using this wrong
strategy on a somewhat uglier paytable than NSU. Without knowing the exact
hand payoffs, my close enough for goverment work guess, is that you are
probably already giving up about .5%-1-1/2% of the expectected return of the
ER of the actual game that you are playing, not of the strategy that you are
using.

It would depend on what your definition of best is. First off, consider
this, if you use the same VP game, play one hand only on 100 consecutive
days, play 100 hands on a single line machine on one day, or play all 100
hands in a couple of seconds with one push of a button on a 100 line
machine, should it make any difference from an ER perspective? As for
aggressive royal hunting, keep in mind there is always going to be a cost to
pay, and the question is, can you afford to pay it? As an example, I can
guarantee you that you will get more than the mathematically expected number
of royals if, given the following hand in any deuces game, 2-TJQ suited, you
drop the deuce. Can you afford the cost?
