I thought I would comment on a few things as I wandered the River.
RP- I had to see for myself that the AA games were gone. Yes, but I
did enjoy the FPDW in the same area. It looks like the non smoking
casino is gone for good.
CB- I saw Captain Bob is back. He was running a slot tournament. It
looks like he is getting bigger and bigger.
RE- They added a sushi bar at the end of the Eclipse bar. It just
didn't look right in that spot, but the sushi looked pretty good.
They started construction on that new shopping area next to the
Regency. What is it- 35 yards wide? They had heavy equipment in
there grading the dirt right up to the wall of the Regency.
Harrah's had a big sign out in that booth in front of the Regency-
"Free river taxi tickets to Harrah's". I never made it down to
Harrah's this trip.
Flamingo/Aquarius- Big work going on here. They have painted over and
removed every sign on the outside that says Flamingo. The poker room
by the river has been moved back to where it was a few years ago.
This area was gutted, and I have no idea what they will do here. The
main bar area was boarded up from ceiling to floor. The whole front
entrance is unusable, as they work on the outside area. That pink
flamingo look at the front was painted blue. New carpeting was being
layed everywhere. At least half the pink neon type outside lights
were burned out, and I am sure they will go soon. This is not a good
time to stay here, but it looks like it will be very nice. I checked
out a few VP plays, and found lots of new Game Makers with the new
flat screens and MG/MD in most of them. The few I checked had some FP
loaded. It looks promising to me. I saw a back to back bank of
Radical Royals being put in. (What are those?) Someone needs to make
a full sweep in a few weeks to see what they really have.
Riverside- I finally went in and checked out Losers Lounge after the
write up in LVA. They had a good band playing in there, and it was
fun to check out all the displays on the wall. They were having an
old car display out in the parking lot. Fun to wander around and see
all the hot rods, and cars back when I was in high school.
Pioneer- Boy do they do the promotions. Those $1 bar tops progressive
were very ripe. For the dollar player, those might be the best play
in town when you add in the promotions.
