Vulturing in General

I don't play until 9,000 and still, I have had my (un)fair share of losing
plays.

I've been asked to write about Super 8 Liner. Its been a lot of years since
I played one. For lack of a better way I did an emprical study on them. I
literally counted down how often the fruit lands in a square. I put the
chances of catching all fruit at 2.5 to the 9th power or 3814. I played them
at 4,000 coins or higher. You can speed the game up by tapping the draw
button. I had very few losing plays at this game.

countgr82000, are you talking about Super 8 Liner or Super 8 Race. Super 8 Race has a different configuration than Super 8 Liner. The frequency of all fruit is 3^9 or 19,963.

super 8 race or super 8 line 3^9?

This is a video poker game that I work part time. It's called Joker's Jackpot. In the screenshot you can see the payscale on the upper right and some multipliers in the upper left.

The money odds in the payscale convert to this:

RF...........................400
Joker Royal............400
Five of a Kind...........50
Straight Flush...........50
4 of a Kind/no joker..14
Full House..................8

Joker 4 of a Kind........6
Flush..........................5
Straight......................4
3 of a Kind..................1
Two Pair.....................1
Kings or Better............1

At first glance this is a terrible payscale. In the screenshot you can see I have it set on a 40 coin bet (nickels). The payscale says the Five of Kind pays 1000 coins. But you can see the multipliers on the upper left. Since the Five of a Kind multiplier is on 3X I will get payed 3000 coins for a Five of a Kind. When I hit a Five of a Kind the game will then deal me five cards face down. I get to pick one of the cards. Behind the cards will be one muliplier at 2X, two multipliers at 3X, one multiplier at 4X, and one multiplier at 5X. Whichever one I pick will become the multiplier for the next Five of a Kind.

The 4 of a Kind/no joker multiplier is on 5X. In the payscale you can see that it says that hand pays 560 coins. But since the multiplier is on 5X I'm actually going to get payed 2800 coins ($140). When I hit this hand the game will deal five cards face down. Behind one of the cards will be a 2X multiplier, behind one of the cards will be a 3X multiplier, behind two of the cards will be a 4X multiplier, and behind one of the cards will be a 5X multiplier. Whichever one I pick will become the multiplier for the next 4 of a kind/no joker.

The Joker 4 of a kind multiplier is on 4X. The payscle shows this hand pays 240 coins. But since the multiplier is on 4X I'm actually going to get payed 960 coins. When I hit this hand the game deals five cards face down. Behind two of the cars will be a 2X multiplier, behind two of the cards will be a 3X multiplier, behind one of the cards be a 4X multiplier. Whichever one I choose will become the multiplier for the next Joker 4 of a Kind.

In the screenshot you can see that the multipliers are on 3-5-4. I play this game whenever the ploppies leave me the right configuration of multipliers. And I will continue to play it as long as these configurations continue to show:

5-5-4..................106.5%
4-5-4..................106.1%
3-5-4..................105.6%
2-5-4..................105.1%
5-4-4..................103.7%
4-4-4..................103.2%

My guess is I'm the only person who exploits Joker's Jackpot. There is an oddity to this game that I've never seen anywhere else. If you look at the screenshot you will see that the Natural Royal Flush pays 16,000 coins (400 for 1). Take a look at the Joker Royal. It also pays 16,000 coins. When I ran this game on WVP it combined the two hands and gave a frequency of 7335. The longest frequency I'm dealing with in this game is on the Five of a Kind, 10,833.

The Joker Royal only pays 200 for 1 if you bet less than 40 coins.

This is a screenshot of the Jackpot Rocket 5-Spot. The 5 out of 5 meter starts at $195 (390 for 1) and runs at 3%. The countdown is always on 1. The 4 out of 5 meter starts at $22.50, the meter runs at 2%, and the countdown starts at 20. I play them when I find the 4/5 countdown looking something like this:

I'm gonna play until I hit the three 4/5's. The expectation is to play 248 games at a 9.45% advantage. It's about 5 minutes seat time. I book a lot of small losers on this type of play. But the win on the plays where I hit the solid five well make up for it. My best play I hit two solid five's before I could hit three 4/5's.

One of the differences between a vulture (one who works short term advantages) and a ploppie is you will never see a vulture sit down on a machine, stick a bill in it, play the money off, then get up and walk away. The vulture always cashes out a ticket, win, lose or draw When the game goes back to negative expectation the vulture hits the cash out button and takes a walk.

This is true for short term plays like I describe here but not for longer term plays like chasing royal progressives.

Yes you might be the only person exploiting this game as I have never even seen this. It must be an oldie. Maybe they send the old games to Montana to die! Lucky you and good find.

Mick, I was referring to Joker's Jackpot as the game I have never seen.

stayward, I've been playing Joker's Jackpot for 8 years. It was one of the first plays I found here. There are several oddballs video poker games here that I've never seen in Nevada.

Super 8 Line, another game Mickey referred to, is found on many IGT machines, along with some other progressive slots. Some of the crazy Keno variants are sometimes interesting also.

Sylvia, I just thought of a game you might be interested in. I deleted your email from my phone. I'm on a road trip and can't retrieve it. If you can email me again I'll send you the information.

AN INTERESTING JACKPOT ROCKET PLAY

On my last road trip, and per the screenshot below, I stumbled upon thia little jewel of a play. Individually, none of these meters would be worth playing for. The money is to low and the countdowns are to high. But because all the meters are in play its an earn.

The 4/7 meter is at $119 and the countdown is at 90. Since the frequency on a 4/7 is 19.16 the expectation is to play about 1700 games to take the meter off. But it would only be about a 95% play.

The 5/7 is in better shape. The money is at $221 and the countdown is 21. The frequency of a 5/7 is 115.76. So the expectation is to play about 2400 games to take the meter off. But it would only be about a 98% play.

But since I'm going to take the 4/7 meter off on my way to taking the 5/7 meter off then it's about a $100 earn for about an hour's seat time (on turbo speed the game plays at 40 per minute or 2400 games per hour).

But more interesting is the 6/7 meter. The money is at $511 and the countdown is 3. The frequency of 6/7 is 1366 so the expectation would be to play about 4100 games to take the meter off. It would be about a $70 loser playing for this meter alone. But since I'm expected to play about 2400 games to take the bottom two meters off I'm freerolling at knocking the 6/7 countdown to at least a 2 which would make it a straight through play until I take all three meters off. Here's the screenshot:

So this play had full speed ahead written all over it. The 5/7 meter was sitting on exactly $221. It runs at 1% and it's a fifty cent bet so every dollar I put into that meter represents 200 games I played. This is the meter I used to monitor how many games I was playing.

Per the next screenshot the 5/7 meter is a $225 which means that I was 800 games in. The 4/7 countdown is down to 47, the 5/7 countdown is down to 15, but more importantly the 6/7 countdown is down to 2. This meant it was a straight through play until I took off all three meters.

Per the next screenshot you can see I have the 4/7 countdown down to 1. I had $200 in the machine with only 48 credits (quarters) left. This meant I was stuck $188 at this point. This demonstrates the big drain I'm fading until I take off a meter. But once I hit the next 4/7 I was only $67 stuck.

Per the next screenshot, at 1600 games in the 4/7 meter is no longer in play. The countdown on the 5/7 is down to 6, and I hit another 6/7. At this point I was only $31 stuck. Here's the screenshot:

Per the screenshot, at 2500 games in I took off the 5/7 meter. At this point I was $95 in the black, about expectation. I just needed one more 6/7 to complete the play.

Per this screenshot, at 4500 games in I completed the play. It was time to move on and find another play. As you can see I had $609 in credits on the machine. I was in for $200 so after the tip I netted $400 on the play. Not bad for a couple of hours seat time.

cdgnpc, I have issued a challenge to my number one critic. I think you all know who he is. I really don't care about taking other people's money, just his. He lambasts AP's as losers and only his way of doing things work. But he is totally ignoring my challenge. And this is what it is:

He can follow me around through the casinos. He can monitor how much money I put into the machines and how much I cash out.He can't touch a machine. He can't interfere with what I'm doing in any way. I will use legitimate strategy and all available information. We will hit the casinos here when they open at 8 AM. The challenge is whether or not I can produce a $500 win by midnight.

I have offered him a bet from $1,000 to $10,000. He can take any or all of the bet. If I fail to produce the $500 win on that day I will pay him whatever the amount he took up to $10,000. But if I produce the $500 win he has to pay me.

And I can tell you this folks, I'm not a fool. He has no chance to win the bet.
